I guess thats the way with Eurovision, everyone sends their best "worst"s and they choose which "worst" is the best.

It's great that some people are annoyed about Lordi being at Eurovision - it is about time to give the whole competition a strong shaking, and a couple of slaps to the faces of people who take Lordi too seriously and accuse it for being related to the devil himself. I haven't ever been a fan of the whole comedy show. What I have seen during the years have mostly made me want to kick the television into little pieces. It's always the crappiest bands who want to be in the Eurovision contest. At least in Finland but seems like it's the same in many other countries too, according to what I saw last night. The good bands don't bother and it's no wonder.

its a good chance for euro to bash uk again with no points
this should be in the europolitics thread j/k
I think they could give us 'nil point' quite legitimately. The song that's representing the UK is shockingly bad.
It's not so much the quality of the songs, but the involvement in foreign conflicts. Since the start of the war on terror you can clearly see any country involved or supporting that being bashed by almost every country in the competition, be it a jury decision or a telephone/text vote.

If they wanted to let the best song win, then nobody would win because they're all crap.

Just saw it on the news: 3 Greek associations are putting up a charge against Lordi, reason being "satanism". Err...

I saw it too. How enlightened of them.

Oh and the text in my signature is from our last Eurovision disaster. I think it still applies. Inspired by the old saying regarding war.

I only saw ppl in costumes putting up a great show (compared to others). How is this related to "satanism" anyway, a man with an axe and wings?

I don't know what kind of singer or what kind of song my country is sending there, but i have a total confidence in the choice they made for France.
We are applying a plan since decades in the Eurovision , and it has always proven to be working.
I am sure this year, the french plan will prevail again.

    Situation :
Winning Eurovision means hosting the event the following year, this would cost too much money for an event that is mostly ridiculous.
This money could be better spent elsewhere, like buying big expensive car for french politicians so they can show the poor french citizens how much they care about them.

    Objective :
Losing the Eurovision contest at all cost.

How to achieve the objective in a legal way :
    -sending bad singer
    -sending bad song
-vote totally randomly to offend the other countries so they don't vote for us
-be annoying to force the other judge to avoid giving us too much points by charity

    Conclusion :
If every musical and head departments work together, the objective will be achieved without a problem.
The plan has proven to be efficient and can be followed blindly
