I think we can safely scratch the whole coincidence because I've realized that Shadows of the Motherland takes place years after the events of CWC, so James could not be Leon

. Ah well, I thought it could be true when I first thought of it ***

The campaign is about a soviet spetsnaz who was framed for something he didn't do, drafted to NATO, and then faught his friend Alexi and the infamous Guba on Nogova. You should check it out, it's a great campaign (see posts above for a link to it)
