And since he left the community for a while, I was stuck making my own map for an african themed mercinary mission he suggested on the BIS forums.

II. Features

This map was inspired by Libya. It features coast to the north, the east/west/south sides are to be considered land based. Stay away from those borders, since the coast has not been terraformed in those regions the region ends abrupt. The map is build with focusing on the freedom of movement for the AI units in urban areas.

IV. Known bugs

VI. Oil Worker units

Included with the island are 5 oil worker units, they can be found in the editor under civilian/man.

VII. Mission Editor Location Introduction

Since I havent named any locations on the map, I made these little editor introductions for mission makers, to present the points of interest.

The content of the "Location Introduction" folder is to be placed in "OperationFlashpoint\USERS\yourname\missions" , and will then be available in the mission editor for loading. Load and preview the introductions in the editor, to get to know the islands features.

VIII. Installation

Libya_256.pbo goes into your "OperationFlashpoint\RES\addons" folder or modfolder of your choice.

All the needed addons into your "OperationFlashpoint\RES\addons" folder or modfolder of your choice.

Oilworker.pbo goes into your "OperationFlashpoint\RES\addons" folder or modfolder of your choice.

Libya_256_Anim folder has to go into "OperationFlashpoint\RES\addons", otherwise it won't work!!!

The content of the missions folder is to be placed in "OperationFlashpoint\missions" folder.

OFP version 1.91 or higher is required to play. The latest version is recommended.

Further recommended for the playing the missions are either the DMA-NAVAL or DMA-ARMY modpack.

Oh damn! The genious team behind DMA missions has made an island and stuff to go with it. biggrin_o.gif im all over this one as soon as the island + objects are downloaded, dunno i think i got all the mapfact and 3wx stuff, but just to make sure i got the other stuff too smile_o.gif

Screens look very nice, if this is nice enough i think i'll start doing some more desert missions yay.gif

After testing Island i have to sya it was great! Really good, and it didn't lag at all almost, only once when i was inside one of the military camps or bases. And at one of the harbours but that could also be that my comps been running for 7 hours or something too tounge2.gif

Maybe convert a cti to this island and try getting some friend to try it with me and if its good enough mayeb even release biggrin_o.gif thinking about laser us rangers vs rhs naval infantery or spetznas and resistance could be your gerrilas or jjr rebels smile_o.gif

Great work, on the island hope it don't lag away like some other user created islands. I like the cities in this one, very nicely done and good with room for the a.i's to roam around tounge2.gif this one gets my thumbs-up.gif

Yeah, this island is fantastic, and I was amazed at the lack of lag!!! One of the top 5 islands ever released I must say.

I'm havign some problems with the Bleed for Oil mission. Are they pretty much all known issues or do you want bug reports?

I guess I never menioned it, but the Bleed mission has a little flaw, its not compatible with ECP. Use the DMA Army/Naval modpacks instead.

This is due to the dialogs used in the mission, I will see that I can implement ECP compatibility for the next update.

Feedback/bugreports are always welcomed, best way to improve the work wink_o.gif

Ok.. I am using it with ECP, so that might be the cause of most of my problems - still playable, though. Otherwise, it's mostly spelling errors in the speech. Nothing major.

Just had a great mission in Libya - orders were to kill as many terrorists as possible in the nearby coastal ruins over the dunes. Got in my Merlin and circled around looking over my right shoulder as the gunner ploughed down a ton of baddies. Then when most were gone I fast inserted my team and order their advance while I continued to circle with the gunner to provide covering fire.

Seriously the best fun I have had on OFP! Love the missions!
