road signs and road markings

Hmm, search pulled up masses of stuff, mostly unrelated so I'm going to ask in here? I'm very new to this, so be gentle with me, please.

You know the empty/object road sign things that show left/right turn. I was wondering, can I make custom ones of these, ideally, much larger so that they can have readable text on them.
