Hi, I was wondering if someone would be willing to direct me to a step-by-step tutorial on how to export 3ds files from MAX with textures, and have the textures show up in o2?

    Thanks,
    Anderson

Easy,Just have the model mapped and all that stuff in Max,Attach everything if you want. Then export to .3ds.Then Use something like Deep Exploration and re save the model as .3ds then import it into O2.

Ok. so I map my model in max and export as 3ds file. Now should my maps for my model be in any particular spot at this point?

Are there any free programs for doing the step between max and o2?

Can someone please explain to me why you would use Deep Exploration to resave the 3ds file.

What improvement does it give the 3ds over the one exported from max ?

O2 needs the KFDATA section or something, which it sometimes doesn't have (This tends to be when you export from a program that isn't 3DSM..)
Not sure if Deep Exploration is free, if not, Anim8or will load the 3DS, fake the KFDATA and resave it as .3ds, which you can load 99% of the time in O2 (I used this while converting the Doom models, the .mesh file converted didn't make the KFdata section on the .3ds files, so I needed to use anim8or, and then it loaded in O2 perfectly)

Since downloading Deep Explorations 2.0 trial version, everything works for me now! Sigh, time to get to work on the Bahadurv1.5 object set!

    Thanx Onix.
Having only used 3Dmax I have never come across the problem when importing the 3ds files into o2.
