Thread: blured texture

  1. #1

    Red face

Here are two walls, each texture is 512x512 at 150 dpi.
Base texture is from the same souce (brick wall).
The wall comes up clear but the wall with the window came up looking like crap. I have made countless texture and this is the first time I,ve come across this problem.

Can anyone help me to see clearer?

The wall with the windows are bricks too?
Well , maybe you have to make the image size a bit higher to 1024 if you dosn't tried it

Or you try to set your Setting from object details to 1024.

    Just try out.

Hi Cell and everyone else who has had this problem .

    This usually helps. ..

In the flashpoint preferences , set your screen res to the highest it will sensibly go , usually to your desktop size (1024x768)
next set all texture sizes to 4096
and set the Auto drop-down to none ./ this is the main pointer

exit that and it should update your flashpoint cfg , copy that over into your O2 folder and start o2 ***up.

you may want to go and alter it back for best in-game performance for playing Ofp .

using larger texture sizes can also take away the blurred look

    Yes they are brick.
The funny thing is, the window was pasted onto the same brick wall .jpeg at the same rez

Hi Cell , i may have found a solution ..

create a primitive , just a cube ... place it near the wall face to be textured , now apply the texture to both the wall and the primitive at the same time , this works everytime for me ...the primitive can be moved out of sight... thing is .. if you remove the primitive alltogether the textures revert back to a low res mipmap , but the primitive can be reduced to only 1 face to cut down the final count , possibly just use one face to begin with .

Give it a try and experiment with other methods ***
    hope it works for ya
