aries_pup 0 Posted March 22, 2005 Hi, i tried to create my own roads using my textures... but somehow the road is "totally black" in game.. Here is how i did it. 1. Using Odol Explorer, i saved the file,sli6.p3d as an MLOD format. 2. i renamed the file as dirtr6.p3d. 3. Using Oxygen tool, i re-pathed the textures and rename the selection of the road. 4. Using Visitor tool, i planted in the road. THe road shows up well in buldozer... 5. Pbo the folders and test it in game. I thought all is well, but somehow the road is black in color in-game... and the road network/outline doesn't show up in the map editor mode. Anyone tried to create new road? Any idea wat is wrong?? Please Help.
ag_smith 0 Posted March 31, 2005 1. Road models have to be binarized to function properly. 2. ODOL->MLOD conversion is known to irreverisbly dammage some models, hence the lack of map icon. You need to make the road model from scratch. Not that difficult, after all it's just one face...

Not that difficult, after all it's just one face... my roads are in mlod and working perfect (of course not in wrptool) All you need is the memory lod with the points. LB,LE,PB,PE.. and name the textures like how you want it, like sil.paa If you name it like "myRoad.paa" it wont behave like a road, you wont drive faster on road then off road.
