I think you'll find the MLRS is based on the Bradley chassis. Just a different hull.

Yeah. Look at the tracks, and the 'lil bump (something to do with the gear system) in the lower front... Look at the basis. Tracks.Originally Posted by [b
good work on the ADATS! And I look forward to the Rapier/Chapparel!
I'm still not sure which to make first. Demand seems to be for the Chaparral (but I'm SURE I heard either Combat! or BAS were making one) but then, the Rapier is very unique and also British, which is always a plus![]()
I also feel it will compiment the work of other teams making British addons, without overlapping onto their work.
Either way, I'll probably end up making both.

I'd rather my addons go unused than be used only for combat photo pics.

well... we're not making the tracked rapier if you weren't sureOriginally Posted by (DKM Jaguar @ Mar. 17 2005,21:15)
- lovely piece of kit, saw one piggy backed on a scammel on the M1 once... missiles in place and all

would compliment our stuff very nicely, as i'm sure you would make an excellent job of it as you have with the ADATS... one question though... if you were to make a tracked rapier, would you consider possibly stripping it down and making the portable rapier?
or the older
just seeing as you may be able to use similiar parts etc...![]()
Ah that's a releif, I'm looking forward to doing a British addon... it's one of the reasons I've decided not to update the UK pack, as I couldn't do it properly, and my texturing style is completely different from Carnage's so if I did any alterations it'd stick out a mile. Also it was Carnage's project so I don't really want to mess with his work. I think I'll stick to my SAMs![]()
I will do the new version of the static rapier, despite the model on the Tracked one being of the old type (which is being made in a static form by another team).
I'm not 100% sure the tracked Rapier is still in service, but I do hope I'm mistaken.
I've done some searching of the forums, looks like AngusHeaf was planning on doing a Chaparral, so I'll have to try to get in contact with him to see if he plans on completing it. I've not heard anything and the last post was '03 so who knows. His textures where said to be Marfy quality though, so it'd be good.
Looks like I'm doing the Rapier first.

I don't think the tracked rapier is in service anymore, but it would still make a good addition to OFP![]()
Apparently the Army rejected the design and they were instead all built to be exported to the Shah of Iran, they were put into long-term storage in a BAe hanger at Filton Airport in Bristol until the Army bought them up cheap.
I've got some exterior pics I took of one at Bovington if you want them.

That would be great, Google's not coming up with much of any use. Especially the shape of the front of the cab.![]()
Didn't they call the tracked Rapier something like Jernas when they tried flogging it?
Can't have enough British kit though
