Thread: Teamspeak

  1. #1
For multiplayer we definetly need teamspeak. Now I bought a new Mic and cant make it work, so I got a few questions.

Do I plug the mic into the mic-plug or line in.
I can hear everything I say without even having teamspeak test mode on! How do I change that?
    Any wise words of advise?

it is not a Teamspeak setting, it is in your sound properties.

I don't know the names in english, but there are settings in there ticked for micro in entering and exiting , and by unticking one of those you will not hear your own voice anymore.

okay, thanks.. so I plug it into the mic-plug and disable it in the sound options. Now if I go into the Teamspeak test mode I should still be able to hear my voice ... but I hear nothing.

Make sure TS is using your sound card, go to the input/output options inside of TS and make sure the correct card is selected for input.

okay.. works now (did what you said) but somewhat sucks pretty badly..I need to check it ingame.. as high as I put the settings I can hardly hear my voice and a huuuge echo... the last mic worked much better..

a word of advise... buy one which is connected to earphones. You dont have to use the earphones but only the mic. Next to your moth the sound is much better.

Yes, buy a headset, not a mic alone. Everyone I've heard that had only a mic, they all sounded like they were in a cave, with a huge echo.

I am using a table microphone for a long time and have no problems. I don't like using headphones, speakers and subwoofer are much better

You should check that you disable "what you hear" as an input and check microphone. You might also check "mic boost" for microphone. In rare cases the microphone has to be enabled as a playback device (beats me why) in addition to a recording device to actually record anything.

I mean to only plug in the mic of the earphones.. and not using them for listening!

Yes, I tried the mic boost but it creates a hell of an echo... at least it works now... and I got the test them during the next OFP session.

Turn your mic volume all the way for windows - you can't hear it, but it will still transmit your voice. voila no echo. The sound is caused because your mic pics up the speakers and what you just said, and says it again and again etc...

Just mute the mic, check the mute box under microphone settings in your audio control panel...

And yes, you will still be able to talk on TS just you wont hear yourself.
