The EURO introduction was a harsh cut for the citizen in Germany, they lost massive buying power. In many sectors the prices were just changed 1:1, which was a price increase of around 50% but without adjustments of the income of course. Lots of disinformation were spread, talks about "felt inflation" which was nonsens of course. The income did increase slightly over the years but its still far away from the buying power before the Euro.

The majority in Germany did not want to have the Euro according to polls and if there would have been a referendum, I bet politicians would have not been successful with the introduction of the new currency.

That happened in most of the countries of the Eurozone. We all lost a massive buying power. I remember that with virtually the same salary a coffee that used to cost the equivalent of 1€, costed 3-4€. Or Playstation games that costed the equivalent of 50€ costed the next day 60-70€.

The Euro introduction was a big mistake at that time. It was a really bad idea without a proper central bank and common fiscal and economic policies. Now things have improved in that sense, but we payed, and are still paying the consequences.

if there would be possibility to somehow take back those money, it would be serious budget income to take it back,

we have so called "audiovisual fee" paid on state-owned radio and television channels, law says it is to be paid by anyone who has TV-set, radio-set,

people protested against it, people said "we do not watch government TV channel, why we have to pay for it"

currently ruling party promised to deleted this fee for retired people so they would not have to pay this fee from small salary,

in governing after election:

ruling party changed law,

they raised this fee plus now this fee is ... part of income tax ! it is included in PIT-declaration (Personal Income Tax) paid also by retired people ,

and everyone has to pay it , including people who DO NOT HAVE tv-set, neither radio-set,

so even people who do not watch TV (like me, cause i use only internet websites to get news) have to pay this fee in tax , before it I was not obeyed to pay this fee (cause i do not watch TV and i do not want to pay tax for their soap operas " L like Love" or dancing/singing contests for celebrities "what melody is this" )

so :

- before election "we will delete fee for people with income lower than < x "

- after election "fee is bigger and is must for everyone"

this is what politicians are and why we citizens should have more power

meanwhile because of EU order we got to finance and refund such things for refugees , which we do not refund to natives, it is insane and not just ,

Spain raises marrying age from 14 to 16

Spain has raised the minimum age for marriage from 14 to 16, having had the lowest marrying age in Europe.

Before the age was raised, boys and girls could marry at the age of 14 with the permission of a judge. It is now level with most European countries.

The change comes only months after the government raised the age of consent from 13 to 16.

According to El Pais (in Spanish), only 365 marriages involving under-16s took place in Spain between 2000 and 2014 - with only five in 2014.

In the 1990s, however, there were 2,678 marriages involving at least one under-16 - and 12,867 in the 1980s.

One study by the Statistical Institute of Catalonia showed that, in 2013, men in the region married at an average age of 33.6 years, compared with 32.6 years for women.

It won't happen any more since there is no more milk quota in EU (1st of April 2015). It was like that for the last 30 year... 

I ask Polish forum members for some clarifications about newly elected president of Poland, A.Duda: is that person really his relative (claimed to be granduncle)?

I can only say, what I found in Polish net. First, I found this:

in Poland ZUS (State Insurance/Retired Agency) send letters to many many people with foreseen pension height

people have foreseen pension (at retired age) ca 200-300 Euro (i have 1250 PLN/ 297 Euro prognosis for 2045) this is insane , that so much taxes wasted and they foresee retirement pension as 200-300 euro in 2045 (if salary will be the same and person will work all time at today's salary)

they foresee pension to be 30% of last-decade salary of person , which is ridiculous in our conditions (prices almost like in western europe)

I'd say they are pretty well armed and equipped.

Discussion below indicates, this "armament" is airsoft guns (replicas). Most likely, taking into account Polish strict and highly exclusive regulations regarding possession of any weapons, not even mention assault rifles and such. Some young people with strong need to be "radical" and to feel, they're doing something serious, I would say. Well. At least they may train tactics and such by the way. Since in Poland any territorial defense last years was practically non-existent, people with such enthusiasm look for own ways to externalize it as far, as is legal and possible.

What's the point of walking at the border with AEGs when real 'banderowcy' may have ordinary firearms that are available in masses since robbing of army and MIA weapon stocks during early days of maidan? Right sector thugs have even .50 cal machineguns mounted on jeeps. Isn't it a bit silly for their counterpart in Poland to boast airsoft guns?

Exactly. No real point obviously. Nor real need currently either, I think. As said, they only are pretending doing something important, just playing in the woods. They'll probably not admit that, but IMO it's nothing more, than kind of airsoft game/exercise. They picked most suitable at the time "enemy of their vision of Poland" (there was some shooting close to Polish borders with Right Sector involved, as I heard plus that, not other situation on Ukraine), and manifesting "combat enthusiasm" using that enemy as an excuse. They're training maneuvers, they're identifying potential "weak spots" at Polish border, asking locals about possible provocations by "Prawy Sektor". But they, if wise, would be quickly gone, if such supposed "threat" would by some unexpected miracle become real threat (sounds like an absurdal joke, but let's assume...), at most they would act like voluntary recon informing relevant services about spotted "incursion", but real job would be done by Border Guard (+ local Police if needed) or Polish Armed Forces (depending on scale) in such case anyway. Except for training tactics and listed activities it looks like waste of abundant free time and potential of willing, young people, that might do something really valuable in hypotetical Territorial Defense structures and such. Still, maybe better this, than nothing. 

Of course, as history shows, even simple "scouting games" in the woods in certain circumstances may become a beginning of something serious, in plus or in minus, but as for today it's nothing more, than kind of game, plus some radical nationalistic ideas in their heads.
