Best addons/packs not requiring ofp:r

Allright, me being on top of the game, I've just picked up a copy of OFP CWC about a month or so ago. Finished the campaign - fun! Now with DSL, it's time to look at the various add-ons and user missions, etc.

Problem. Most of the best stuff (ie FDF, Tonal) seems to require OFP Resistance. I don't have Resistance and am EXTREMELY unlikely to get it.

That said, what's the best stuff, packs, etc, for plain old CWC? Help would be much appreciated and thanks.

Mostly, they begin with an "n", and end with a "g". There's an o, an i, and a t in there, and it spells "nothing".

I used to have CWC only. I bought res, been happy ever since.

if you want ability, res is a must have, like mspencer said

perhaps you try to get it cheap.. i got mine used for ~15 euro and im totally happy with it

its worth the money.. not because of the res campaign, its because you are able to play the stuff (fdf..etc)

OFP.info has their addons section.
I would say probably the 2nd half of each section of addons has the plain old 1.46 stuff.

It's all retexes for the most part but theres some decent stuff by UCE in there.

GOTY is on the cheap shelves. do yourself a favour and buy it; It's a completely different game.

Virtually nothing good is for CWC. Nobody is going to make addons for it when Resistance's improved engine is dirt cheap.

Nothing but retextures for CWC, sadly. All the real s**t is for Resistance, try to get your mittens on GOTY as quickly as possible or you'll be missing out on a whole lot.

Huh. Thanks for the replies all. Looks like I need a copy of Resistance at least if not the full on GOTY version.

Next question: what makes Resistance so much of an improvement over CWC?

Newest patch for cwc is 1.46

Newest for Resistance/GOTY is 1.96

Many important things have been changed with all those patches. Resistance is a "must have".
