For anyone searching out games they played years ago try these sites :

http://game.downloadatoz.com

http://www.download-free-games.com

http://www.freeoldies.com

http://www.classicgaming.com

http://www.the-underdogs.org

http://www.coffeebreakarcade.com

There should be something for most people.

The following are utilities which people here might find useful at some stage in their computing. All are free downloads - no costs / no spyware :

Please also note that very few of the following even have popup ads (PCflank does have one popup under which you can just right click / close.) But most do not plague you with such garbage.

AVG Free Anti Virus - http://www.grisoft.com (Updated free weekly / usually Tuesday.)

Free Firewalls - http://www.free-firewall.org

Free Online Trojan Scan - http://www.pcflank.com (Disable Firewall to use.)

Free Online Anti Virus Scan - http://housecall.antivirus.com/

Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org/ (Updated free regularly.)

Offline PC Security Utilities - http://www.wilders.org

Graphics / Phot Editor - www.tucows.com/preview/290806.html

Alternative to IE - http://www.avantbrowser.com

Online PC Benchmarking - http://www.pcpitstop.com

Alternative to Office XP - http://www.software602.com/

Need a missing DLL File :

DLL File Archive - http://www.dll-files.com/

Need to backup you drivers to protect them or ready for disk format :

Win Driver Backup - http://www.jermar.com/wdrvbck.htm

If you need any info on what components are in your system try these :

System Utility - http://www.aida32.hu/

-----DO------ - http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Anyone interested in learning more about their computer would perhaps find these sites useful :

http://www.computerhope.com

http://www.computing.net

In the event you ever have proiblems with you pc that you cannot solve then I recommend you go here :

http://www.helponthenet.com - Free Online Tech Support. (Register with email addy only.)

I post at the above site regularly - as stated there are no costs to join. If you have any sort of probs.

then go to the above site and look for the right forum - ie Games, Hardware, Win98 or XP and if

you post they will try to help you out. They will not answer questions about illegally

downloaded games, movies, etc but they will endeavour to assist you with any legit. problem. It would also help if you could include details of your system - ie Mobo, Cpu, Graphics and Soundcard, Win OS.

With my Win98 I could play all these cool games like Mad TV, but now I have Win2k and there's no DOS anymore. Either the games won't work at all, or the sounds don't work, or like in Mad TV the mouse is all f***ed up. Help? sad_o.gif

As far as I'm aware abandonware is legally ok, I know a few companies let their old classics go into the public domain which is a great thing, if anyone is concerned about the legal aspect and can point to documentation that it is in fact illegal I will gladly delete the thread.
