Thread: ?advice on my upcoming soundpack

  1. #1
I am making a sound pack...how do I modify the BIN file without triggering fade on a machine...like satchel did...I have all my sounds ready but am deathly afraid to modify the BIN...What I decoded the 1.91 BIN and all appears in order....but how best do I re code it so I don't kill everyones game...This pack is about 2 years of sound collection and I think most will be very happy with the results. Any help will be appreciated.
    Best Regards,

    I wouldn't worry about fade.

Yeah dude, just go for it, I've modified the bin's/cpp's without problems. But remember to bin it back (in case you wanted to sent it in cpp form) when you've finished, or else some strange bugs could come out.
Look at my signature, LOOK!!! LOOK YOU MAGGOT!!!!

You guys are great...Thanks for the quick reply!

I gotta a new problem now though....I modified the BIN to match my sound changes and now OFP:R won't load....I REBINED it as suggested (NO worries as I backed up Original). Any thoughts on why the game won't load though.....DO I have to reconfigure the original COFIG.BIN for OFP too. I checked the decoded COFIG and it was flaweless conversion.

    BEst Regards,

Hmm, strange, can you let me take a look at the bin?
    Send to me e-mail (I've pm'ed you)
I'll send you a modified bin/cpp that I currently use (some kind of realism bin/cpp not finished yet). Good thing you did made a backup, forgot to told you that. Maybe you got some lines in the wrong order, happened to me once, the binariser checks for forgotten symbols ( ; , : or = ) but afaik not for lines that you've placed in the right order (me guess).

Anyway, try to make mod folders for seperate bins (check avon's site on how to do that), and no you don't need to modify the old CWC bin (unless you wanna play with CWC).

does it give you any errors or does it just drop to desktop?
