FADE - is my copy fading?

Some people complaing about low (or virtually no) accuracy of machine guns and some other weapons. We can confirm this is one of aspects of FADE technology and it's caused by using counterfeit versions of the game. Solution to it is to use original version of the game as installed from CD and patches from official web sites. ***If you have legal version and you try to apply crack to remove CD protection, it will happen as well. The same may happen when using any trainers or any other single- or multiplayer cheating applications. The only solution is to use the original game without any modifications.

Please note that any hacking of the exe (like unlimited ammo hack etc.) may activate FADE and you can experience various gameplay problems including low accuracy of some weapons.

Some owners of legitimate original version are afraid that FADE copy protection scheme might be working on their copy, because they thing that some instability of the game they see might be caused by the copy protection. While we are unable to provide exact technical specification on what FADE is and how it works, we can say some facts about it that might be helpfull:

- when FADE is activated, it does not affect major technical parameters of the game. It does not create any visual artifacts. It also does not make the game running slower. When encountering any problems like this, it is very likely you are experiencing some compatibility problems between various parts of the operating system, computer hardware and our game. Checking forum sections Troubleshooting FAQ and Troubleshooting is recommended, as it may help you fixing the problems you have.

- when FADE is activated, if affects gameplay aspects of the game. This may include (but is in no way limited to) following: reduced accuracy of some weapons, reduced weapon performance, increased enemy hit endurance, increased player injuries.

- it someone is using illegal version in which Fade copy protection was "removed", it might easily exibit stability problems. Removing copy protection includes changing program code in many various areas, which leads to increased application instability. Many illegal versions are known to contain such instabilities, causing the game to crash during various gameplay events.
