Thread: Decoy system used for ofp

  1. #1
I have a question about Decoys used in OFP...

Is there any way to decrease the overall effectiveness of the Flare/Chaff system usually used in OFP? ***The reason I ask is I get tired of getting a good firing position and it always goes for the decoy. ***Not true for the AIM-9L/M's, not unless the target does a steep dive. ***Once I wasted all my Sidewinders from my F-15E on the MiG-29 with decoys trying to nail that sucker, but couldn't even get close.

Is there any way to improve the chance of hitting the aircraft with the decoys comming out when firing at the back. ***That is the easiest area to attack an aircraft, and should almost always splash a target when firing two missiles if it does not do a very tight turn, dive, or climb.

Anyways, I'd appreciate any advice on how to reduce its effectiveness.

    Later.

Not without decreasing the effectiveness of the decoy, or making the missiles more effective. In real life chaff/flare work, but not always. It depends on the situation.
