Thread: 1.91 do not recognise cd in drive

    Red face

Today I wanted to launch OFP:R as usual.

I had the message " insert correct CD ... "

Tried many ways, still that error message.

I uninstalled OFP and OFP:R then did a clean install.
Both OFP and OFP:R launched perfectly.

When I re-installed 1.91 patch, got several message errors :

    Verifying Operation Flashpoint, version 1.75...
Error found in file Res\AddOns\O.pbo (012e4bac!=cc7df6c5)
Error found in file Res\Campaigns\resistance.pbo (1996a085!=0c7911e4)
Operation Flashpoint: Updating version 1.75 to version 1.90...
Some error occurred during patch installation.
Patch file is probably dammaged. You may need to download it again.
Error in file RES\ADDONS\O.pbo, phase 1.

And some others with following patch install for mission PBOs.

I D/L 1.91 from BIS, OFP Info and alternatively tried with both, always error messages.
Finally the patch succsessfully installed at the 9th try.

I saw on the board that this happened with VIA chipstets and drivers.

The problem is that I do not use them.

    My system specs :

    Leadtek motherboard with NForce2 chipset
AMD XP 2200 / 512 Mo ram Infineon
    LG DVD drive
Powercolor ATI 9700 Catalyst 3.2 drivers.

I didn't installed any new hardware nor driver since the last time ( two days ago ) I successfully launched and played OFP:R.
    Checked, no virus.

And when 1.91 is installed, always message " insert CD ... "
Two days before, OFP:R with 1.91 worked well.
What the hell is wrong ?

What the hell do I have to do ?

    Problem solved.

Drivers NVidia 1.42 and 1.41 corrupt the system.
Do NOT install them ! ( not as someone else... ; and now I am the only admin of my system to prevent such events to happen again )
NVidia ask customers to uninstall them

Yes, NVIDIA has pulled the new NFORCE driver sets due to problems with the IDE portion of the drivers.
