Help, i'm captured and cannot escape

On the campaign missions, I am into the captured pilot mission and surronded by dozens of russians. There are 2 parts to the whole deal: The first is where I get transported by Hind-D to a town along the coast. The second is at the town during the night where I get put into a jeep with 3 Spetznats and get killed along the road.

The question is, how the heck do I escape? There seems to be no sort of opening for me to make a break for it. What is worse, the Pilot cannot run at full sprint, he seems to be stuck in walking mode.
