Unfortunately my O2 quit working,but I am on the verge of cracking walking in vehicles.
This is some of my discoveries so far.....
We been thinking about Aircraft Carriers and the like wondering how you can move and such.
First of all I notice that we (I) have always been trying to setpos yourself where need be,this is what I discovered
I made a model that is just a roadway,If I keep setpos it underneath me,I can walk anywheres,over water and the like.
This would work well for a Plane that wants to land in water.
I've already tried it and it works,can drive a tank across the water even.
If you setpos it to height of .5 m ,that is barely above the water.
Some other discoveries.....You can walk on a moving piece and you follow where its going (ex carrier deck)
But once you stop walking,you fall through,well I am currently working on ways to keep yourself active,but currently have alleviated the problem by also moving the stopped unit the same direction as the moving piece when he stops.
You can land an aircraft on a moving carrier for sure.
(just setpos the roadway above the carrier ,following the carrier,the carrier can move wherever he wants and you can land,but when the plane stops ,it will then fall through
But anyways,I am on the verge of cracking the walking on moving vehicles

Yes in the process of trying to conjure up a tailgunner,I have learned alot of things.
Unfortuantely my O2 still won't work.I may finish up some of my textures,but that puts a damper in my testing.
I am so close to walking about a moving vehicle.
Maybe someone can use what I am talking about,a little hard explaining without showing
But a water capable plane would be nice,and you could almost make it so that when a soldier goes in the water,a walkway is below him,and he can only move slow and such to be like swimming
How would the carrier landing thing work? would the roadway
be setposed to the carrier or to the landing airplane?
Just setpos to the carrier,the plane can land,but when the plane stops, it will then fall through.
I still been testing a little.I also notice that you can't setpos a moving object any further than -1 below ground.
You can sink a BMP and no damage occurs ,but the bmp jiggles all over,slides on the terrain (thinking of submarine possibilities)
Sounds pretty cool.
Plz tell us if you find any solution about tailgunners, because I would have use for it too.
What would happen if you also had a roadway on the
moving ship model also? Because when you stand still on a
moving ship, you don't fall through, but you don't move
along with the ship. BUT would you still move with the
One very cool idea:
A large cargo vessel with those huge containers on it, so
when you hit it with big weapons, the containers go flying!
Or when it sinks the containers float... Or how about having
the crew float so you can do rescue operations...Or you
could even do a forklift that could actually pick things up
and put it on the back of a flatbed truck, which could drive
it anywhere...holy shit this could be awsome!!!

I was thinking like a personal roadway so you can stop walking.But that doesn't help moving around in a helicopter,still need to test if I can move the piece you walk on along with any other plane that is supporting all items
I dont think you caught what was happening....
If I placed a roadway above a moving carrier,you can walk or land on it already and you will follow the direction it is going also (move with it) so everything is ok at this point....(for moving items)
if you stop walking,you fall through and when you stop walking,you no longer move with the moving roadway
Whatever you were driving has the same effect.
So you could land a airplane on a moving carrier,but when you stop walking (unless the carrier stopped too) you will fall through
Just need to test if you had you own walkway and if it stops when you stop,if we can move that piece.Need someway of moving the inactive items...
(further testing needed)
I already made a script that when your speed reaches 0 (stopped walking) it starts moving you the direction it was going,just that it takes a script to get you walking again.
I am going to test more on the individual walkway idea,maybe assigning like a personal space and a way of combining items
And if someone knows a way to keep items "active" then not much more testing would be required,as that would do it (i tried putting soldier in animation moves but no luck)
And a carrier is needed soon ! Doesn't make sense that if you make a carrier that has roadway ,why it wouldn't work already?
Must also have to do with that item going "active"
