I would like to make it so the LST ship will allow a helo to land on the heli deck on the back of the boat and rearm, repair and refuel. It would also be nice if I could have men standing on the deck too. That way I could create a mission in which you walk to your aircraft, get in and fly to targets on land and rearm when you are out of ammo.

I don't think that's possible.

Me neither...

The LST sinks when you land a helicopter on it.....

The LST sinks, or it bounces you off and blows you up, But if I could some how set a solid helipad, maybe a flat ground surface with an invisable texture at the same height as the pad and give the LST heal, rearm, refuel properties it might work, just it would be complex and the LST wouldn't be able to move.

How about this:
1. chopper unit name = "helo"
2. define a "zone" that is the helo deck of the LST. Make it relative to the LST's position, so that if the LST moves, the "zone" will to.
3. if "helo" is in the "zone," and it's height is less than the height of the helo deck, reset it's height to that of the helo deck.
4. do this for other units (guys standing on deck)
I haven't tested this, and it's a crude method. The chopper will probably bounce (as it's height gets reset, but not fast enough to be smooth).

That would require too much work.

Actually...with the setpos you could always make a invisible H...not sure if it's solid though.

I bought an editor for Flight Sim 4, way back and for landing on buildings we tried a trick where we rasied the ground to a pixel below the height of the building, that is what I am thinking of doing. so you make a hill the height if the deck and put an invis H on it. This could also be used for building helipads if I can make it work.

Yeah, that's one way to go about it. Of course, there's always more than one way to skin a cat. If you raised the ground, would the LST still be able to maneuver?
