Thread: Setting scale

1. #1
For my first project I thought I'd try the L7A1 GPMG. I have the first LOD and can view it in all its unskinned glory in Buldozer. But:

1. Is there any way to preview how a texture looks before opening Buldozer?

2. How do you set the scale? the damned thing may only be useable if I put it in a turret of the New Jersey.

3. How many polys would you say were acceptable for a smallarm?

Help?

Never forget your shovel. Remember: A sanitary battlefield is a happy battlefield.

1 grid unit = 1 m (aproximately). But you still need some try and error (find out how the model looks in game and resize it so that it looks good).
Keep polycount as low as possible. But if you think it's ok and it works fine on your computer, it's ok.

Hmm. I think the grid is closer to 1 square = 10 centemetres, though I haven't got to the point where I've started work on the Config yet, so I can't be totally sure.

As far as the texture map goes, I've found the gizmo, but it works nothing like GMax.

Wow, That's nice!

I'm having problems sticking the textures to the gizmos, as you can see by the pistol grip above. When I open the tool for Gizmo alignment, all I see is a blue square.

I was using windows 98, but upgraded yesterday to Windows 2000. possibly this will resolve some of the "peculiarities" I've noticed with O2, but O2 is offline until I can get a fresh passcode.

Hunt, the red model is mine. Hopefully, though, A Lone Wolf will answer both our questions.
