Recommended Posts

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">

Beta 1.88 Linux version

is available for download.

1.88 Linux server should be normally installed over 1.88 Windows Dedicated server files. When installing this version over Linux 1.85 beta you need to extract config.bin and resource.bin files from Res\bin folder of Windows 1.88 dedicated server installation.

This version should fix all issues fixed in 1.88 Windows version.

It also includes some Linux specific improvements:

- improved memory management

- working Squadl XML and squad logo

I noticed this too... I also took a screenshot wink.gif

http://koti.mbnet.fi/kegetys/flashpoint/screenshots/bugittaa.jpg

Also I noticed some AI controlled units "bounce" rapidly when they are on hills, kinda like the tanks used to do in 1.75, going partially underground in one frame and then standing properly on the next.

Somehow I'm unable to upload and start User-created Missions.

I only see all the "official" Missions when I'm on the server....

I uploaded "espl-everonwar.pbo", it is in the mpmissions folder but it is NOT shown by the server!

Even restarted the Server, it still does not show the uploaded missions. We can only "see" and choose official Missions!

Executing tolower tells me that "No file-names were converted"...

Help... sad.gif

A missions with that kind of filename isnt even supposed to work as it doesnt have the island its on in it. (Should be something like espl-everonwar.eden.pbo)

I noticed some missions dissapeared for me too. I belive it was all that contained -

for example 2-5_COOPERATIVE.EDEN.PBO

which is an original.

Anyone else?

Uppercase names are not supported under Linux server. You should pu every mission with uppecase letters inside in a directory, copy the program tolower in this directpry and run it. Mission name should have changed with lowercase letters, you can copy it to you mission directory.

you can run the tool ./tolower from top directory of your ofp installation (copy, where the server is located)). It searches all sub directories and convert all uppercase file to lowercase files.

it seems like some XML's always crash the server with a segfault.

This is what happens:

Host info.... added 'localhost' with host 0x9f36550 to list 0x9fde8c8

Host info... Added Net 0x9fde780 (request 0x9fdc4f8) to pipe on Host 0x9f36550, 1 requests made, 1 requests in pipe, 0 pending

HTHost...... No ActivateRequest callback handler registered

AutoMulti... can't stat "/home/finp/operationflashpoint/www.nekromantix.com/pmc/OperationFlashpoint.htm"(errno 2)

Segmentation fault

(Not a copypaste, wrote it from the server machine's screen I can't access now)

This happens every time.

"Can't stat "/home/finp/operationflashpoint/<squad url>"(errno 2)

Segmentation fault

I'm running the server as root, so it shouldn't be a file or directory privilege issue either. Any ideas why it does this? Oh, the XML doesn't work, alltho I can see that it fetches the XML file, but what it does with it, I don't know. No squad tags or logos or player infos can be seen.

BIS, any ideas?

Anyone got any ideas as I am going to keep the server private till I can get this sorted out. Good thing is the server runs at 49 FPS compared to the windows 32fps with identical config scripts, which is nice  biggrin.gif

Really an active forum... I think playing OFP online will be dead very soon. The community (me included) is dying for a good stable OFP server. Especially a Linux based server. I see a lot of clans changing to other games like BF1942, Ghost Recon... Don't get me wrong: OFP is a game I love, but won't make it if there won't be a good, stable server very soon!

BIS: When will the new server version be released?
