Harudath 15 Posted March 26, 2015 Hey guys, I was wondering if it's possible to attribute the AFM to custom helicopters. While I love the Chinook and Black Hawk, I'm avoiding them because I feel like they'd be easier to fly than their official counterparts. Could one, say, attribute the Huron flight model to a CH47/HC4? Forgive me if this has been asked/posted/done before, I did take a quick look. chops 111 Posted March 27, 2015 There's a line in each helicopter config that points to an Advanced Flight Model file #include "rtd.hpp" That file contains all the data for when each helicopter is in AFM. Have a look at the heli sample files for more details. Cheers
Maj D. Schultz 13 Posted March 27, 2015 I've managed to get it on the AH1 and UH1 from A2, the problem lies with the fact that in order to do so, you are drawing the AFM from A3 airframes and they are not designed to the craft you are placing them on. Causing some interesting flying experiences, it works but its not perfect. It's largely in part that the documentation of AFM is little to none. Making it hard to fine-tune or edit. I've slowly been making progress but it's been very hard going.
