I got the following configuration here
1 pc directly connected to the net (cable modem)
rest of my pc's are connected trough a Switch and also have internet through internet connection sharing.
(both using win98SE when I game)

1 of these pc's is my game/dev machine,
I can Join others games very well
however I cannot host a game because my external IP is not the IP of that machine.

Falcon4 a sim I fly alot I can host with this configuration
I got this to work after somoene advised me to forward some ports from my server machine to my game/dev machine
Falcon4 uses UDP protocol(ports).

I got the same prob as OFP with more newer sims
IL2 is one of them. (in other words OFP and IL2 I want to get to work )

anyone knows what I amn talking about and knows if it is solvable and how?

thnx in adavance

Host with port 2234, this is the port that ICS uses.

Also I suggest that you put win2000 on your server, cable isn't very good for hosting games but you can try.

in a previous post I read that for a firewall someone opened these ports

- UDP Ports 2302 and 2303 are required for socket play.
- If using DirectPlay then you need
TCP 47624, 6073, 2300-2400, 2234
UDP 2300-2400

seems I had to do the same for ICS to my other machine
in order to get OFP to be able to host from there.

now only IL2 left

thnx for the help
