Sahrani Life: Rearmed - The True Role Play Mod.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, Slatts here. NSS-Gamers is hosting an opening night for public players to showcase our new mission Sharani-Life: Rearmed(SLR3). If you wish to attend please put down your name here :) http://www.nss-gamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=112&t=1720 Below is our mission statement and some info about ourselves. If you have any queries please let me now. Thanks for reading :)

Sahrani Life: Rearmed (SLR3 for short) is a re imaging of the classic Sahrani Life: Reloaded that was one of the most successful Role Play mods on Arma 1. Our community was close knit but always welcomed in fresh faces. Many of us still game together and this site, NSS-Gamers is the legacy of that community. A place for friends to play whatever they fancy in a relaxed and friendly environment. However Sahrani Life: Reloaded has always remained close to our hearts and we have many, many fond memories of it.

-Our New Life

Recently, our lead coder Mad T was working on a RP Framework mission while myself and SomeBloke knocked heads together exploring the idea of police units. This work was being done separate and we weren't aware of each others progress. When we did however we decided to bring back the glory days of Sahrani Life: Reloaded with a fresh look and bring it up to date in Arma 3. It has allowed us to do such much we couldn't do before and more.

With the fantastic SMD Sahrani Project upgrading our beloved island to Arma standards. The map looks as fantastic as ever, offering our older players a familiar terrain to explore and newer players the chance to see why we fell in love with Sahrani in the first place. It's size lends itself greatly to our mod.

-Our Ethos

At SLR3 we our moto is simple. Role Play first, Violence Last.

We want players to enjoy their time while they visit Sahrani. A killing spree for man might be fun in his mind but it is not for everyone else. For this reason we aim to clamp down on this behavior in various ways. From server admins to the "New Life" rules. We greatly encourage players to role play. If you set up a taxi business, why not make a company texture for it? We'll do our best to add it in game to help you enjoy our game. If you decide to enter a life of crime we also ask you RP this as best you can. If you just randomly go about killing civs or cops, what's you reason? What are your goals if any? Same goes for terrorists. If you choose to be one, why not do it in order to take control of the government and set up a dictatorship?

We want all our players here to have fun and have freedom to role play how they want to. It's what drove us before and we wish it to do so again.

Appropriate server rules will be posted shortly, but this doesn't mean the server is a free for all at the moment.

-Our Theme

Our there at Sahrani Life: Rearmed is a European styled country. We have always felt this suits the island we play on. You won't see Crown Vic police cars or 20 Ferraris being driven by poor looking islanders here.

As a civ you'll spawn in the northern capitol of Bagango. This is the main thoroughfare of the island. You'll find markets, license and car shops, the workplace and nearby is the City Hall housing the Mayor and the bank. Around the map you'll find places of interest related to jobs such as mining and vehicle shops etc. We try to spread out these places in order to allow you explore the map but keep the players as close as possible for interaction between cops and civs.

-Take A Trip to Paradise!

We'd love to have you on board for a flight to Sahrani to start a new life. We'll do our best to make sure you enjoy your stay both in game and on the forums. But we also need you to play your part in order to make Sahrani Life: Rearmed as great as it once was! We look forward to your contribution however small and aim to pay you back with a Role Play mod that you'll be talking about in years to come like we have been!

-A developers Message

In recent months. The wider Arma community has been shocked and angered by revelations of extortionist behavior, theft of donations and addons, and then stealing of other games content by "Life mods". Many new and existing life mods have come under extreme scrutiny to look for such behaviors. At SLR3 we aim to be different. Our own in house content is made using Arma sample models and custom work. We've had over 6 years experience at making RP mods and will never go down such routes. Donations for servers are strictly that. And there is no pay to gain shortcuts in this group. You earn it your cash.

We understand that many 3rd party modders out there feel a resentment towards life mods because of the recent revelations but at SLR3. We take pride in calling ourselves a Role Play Mod. That isn't a fancy term with no meaning, it is who we are and always have been and we are keen to show 3rd party modders and players alike that we are different.

-Thank you

So after all that, on behalf of all devs and veterans of SLR. I would like to extend a big thank you to all who read this and decide to join us on our journey. We hope you enjoy Sahrani Life: Rearmed as much as we do. It means a lot to us here as NSS-Gamers and we hope that you'll take SLR into your heart like we did.

See you soon,

Slatts
