arma2 Oa ww2 warships release

Dear ofp/armas community.

With gachopin we have now a pleasure share yours this new released and ideas for working a great submarines mod for Arma3.

a news released of warship mod is a first simulation of a ww2 atlantic battle for arma 2 OA.

some features is now add in this release.

stealth simulation and ASDIC tracking, performing IA for escort ships, u-boats and pilenwerfer counter measure.

a torpedoes scripts is working on a torpedoes base scripts working by a originals authors Gnat and Mandoble and modifiate for simulating a U-boats torpedoes launchers.

in this released you can switch on the 4 torpedoes launchers and launch 4 torpedoes simultaneous.

news improved particles fx flak88 and shrapnels, water effects and 3d bubulles particles is add.

the Hydrophone of u-boat working with périscope for identify a unkowns ennemies target ships.

improved shader water fx with alpha chan and shadows for always show your u-boat under water.

U-boats IA and escort ships d'ont need script or command lines for playing just place units on editor map and play :)

a release include 2 U-boats type VIIC and 1 U-boat VIIB with improved 3d models and textures.

A kriegsmarine crews and sounds FX and particles FX.

Simple user interface is now add.

a release include two single player missions.

ty prof I felt the same when I was playing on your mods ofp/arma ;)

post me your opinion after game testing prof I will be delighted to know further notice

for my future release on arma3.

Got an error messages when trying both missions.

"You can not play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. nim_clouds, cypb_camels_config"

I installed with PlayWithSix. Do I miss any addons not listed as a requirement?

My fault. The requirement was not listed on Armaholic or PwS, only last sentence in your post

Nice music in das boot mission, I have to watch that movie again. :)

Also an error when loading the north atlantic map in the editor, but everything seems to work fine.

"make not available (requsted by 'atlantic layers\s_002_001_mask.png')"

Some issues:

-Give all ship positions 360 degree free look movement in all angels in 3rd person view. It is very restricting to look around in many of the positions. If possible make the pivot point lower on ships hull and further aft, also zoom out a bit.

-Many of the 1st person view positions are bugged. Head are put on the wrong way.

-Is there a way to manually adjust depth in a submarine, or are the preset depths in the custom menu the only choices?

-I can only keep one speed under water, 7.5 knots. Changing to slow or fast does nothing.

-Can't turn engine off when under water. It's turned on again immediately.

-Flak gun can't traverse low enough, it's aimed above horizon when moving so it's hard to aim at ships.

yes i have forgot to add a required downloads on the post is now fixed :)

you can use the head move of unit for look around with Alt + mouse.

the preset to depth is limiting for arma2 oa because is really unplayable to play in very high depth.

and its used for a antisubmarine weapons of corvettes.

depth charges and hegehogs use randomly this preset for exploding in the water on this good preset and give chance for player escort ship to sink one u-boats with this weapons :)

for Arma3 i want update this and creating a slider ui for choose your depth meter by meter with 260 meters limit and add a choice to escort ships to regule depth options for antisubmarine weapons.

for the moment i have no idea how working this new sea environement on arma3 and begin my works soon :)

for a status of your u-boat is just informations on your actual presets and the speed of u-boat c'ant change manualy.

a totaly submerged u-boats ils limiting to 7 knots under the water and can floating to 16 knots on the surface.

this simulating a false physix water speed effect and the hunting system of the u-boats.

during a real ww2 a u-boats can follow only slow convoys under water and come back to surface for hunting and follow a convoys.

for the engine i watch this for a next released I did not pay attention to this detail ^^

and try to working a better engine ui for the next released with machin stop :)

for the surfacing weapons you can lock the ennemies target and ajust your triger i have not problem for working one blitz surface attack with this weapons :)

you can also ordering to ia to engage a target in the periscope depth before surfacing with your periscope ;)

Brilliant work (although is that 50 cal Browning? IIRC they used MG34)

Oh man how I wish that this could be incorporated into an i44-powered mission, e.g. H&D2's raid on the submarine pens

Or you could go even larger scale by using Chernarus as a substitute for St Nazaire

Equally I think that Isola di Capraïa would provide a splendid background for a sabotage mission.

Who knows something even more crazy like "Steal the submarine"?

hi mate this remember me a bad movie u-571 or 6 americans without speak german stole and flee with a german u-boat or 44 crews is required for moving a u-boat :p

the musics used in movie and in include missions is a best movie ever made on germans u-boats (das boot) and the others is a kenji kawai musics a really best japanese compositor :)

I'm having a lot of fun with these addons. There is one issue I'll bring up.

I believe its "dialog.pbo" that gives a me "Picture Text not Found" error, when I bring up the inventory (G) for the first time in game.

What exactly does this pbo do?

Noooo... still one week to go without internet- connection at home (yep, just discovered this while at work... sloooow day today) and you release something as promising as this... :p

As said I havn't tested by myself, but what speaks against making a mission using both I44 and this mod? Are there any incompatibilities?

And yes, Isola di Capraia or maybe (FDF)Podagorsk would be my first ideas map- wise :)

yes a rendering on new engine is just awesome you can show a news on arma3 engine on forum.

 

a news deepth charges fx and others ;)

 

actualy stuck arma3 1.46 and 1.48 setvelocity comand is buged :/
