IT IS FORBIDDEN TO REPACK AND/OR REUPLOAD THIS MOD TO THE STEAM WORKSHOP



Introduction

This is the first release of the TF47 DVP Desert Vehicle Pack. Basically it is just a retexture of known A3 Vanilla vehicles like the Hunter ect.

The intention of doing this retexture was fitting vehicles in maps like Takistan and their surroundings.

The Little Birds got some tweeking according to the Agile Helicopters by Raven_JJ (page.php?id=25104).

I added Flairs to the helis and changed the gun. I still need to figure out how to create a GAU-19/B .50 Cal Gatling Gun. Help is welcome.

Usage of custom painting textures:

To us the custom painting skull textures paste following lines in the init field of the vehicle (Editor).

HEMTT:

Known Issues

- Due the limitation of "hiddenSelectionsTextures" the HEMTT Box, Transport, Transport (Cover) and Medical got no complete retexturing.

Also the insides of the vehicles are not done.

- Little Bird shows empty rocked pods

- Arma 3 Bug: No FLIR view for UAVs when controlled from the inside of a vehicle (related to Targeting Pod vor Copilot)

This is cool man. Can I request to make an optional replacement PBO? Like the AAF Desert pack has? Would be great to run this pack for when playing desert maps, but was designed with original BLUFOR units. Thanks for the addition either way!

Haha whops. I mean people make a replacement config that when units are used, they are replaced automatically with your version of it. For example,

AAF Desert and Massi both have mods that replace the default units (optional of course).

How it works is i place down default factions, and when i use your replacement configs, it uses your units instead of the default faction ones. I can point ya to more examples if needed. Thanks

Loving little bird modifications. I think 20mm gun is fine as variant but amount of ammo need to be seriously nerfed (4000 20mm rounds without reload speed? That thing is a flying death).

Well, legends says that little bird can carry 30mm gun... http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/detail.asp?aircraft_id=321

Also, why only 6 DAGR rockets? They are basically same as hydra 70 (DAR in arma) but upgraded, and different rocket pod should be used for lock-on capabilities (IRL). Maybe bump amount to standard A3 amount?

Everybody who is willing to write unit replacement configs is free to do so. Rip it apart, patch it together again, it's all open (for credits o/c)

Right, this bird means serious trouble :D

But yeah, i need to rethink the balanceing of those birds. IMO six DAGR are a good amound of rockets to 4000 Rounds (2000Rnd tracer red / 2000Rnd tracer IR), otherwise it would be way more powerful than a AH-99. I'm also thinking of 2000Rnd tracer red and 1000 tracer IR for each bird and downsize to 12 DAR rockets.

Also in the next update will be two types for the gun, high and low speed fire mode, and different rocket bursts (DAR), single, double and four each shot.

Oh, and keep it modular please. I ripped out sand ifrits / etc, ccip system and left only little bird units.

To balance it and bring it closer to reality, while still keeping it pretty high-power, 20mm can be removed and 12.7mm HEIAP rounds can be added (aka Raufoss Mk 211, same that used in BWMod in their M107 rifle, basically). I see you mentioned GAU-19 already...

And speaking of actual little bird, it can accommodate 2x LAU-68D/A rocket pods (7 shot DAR / DAGR each), so 14 total.

Here is possible config for raufoss HEIAP:

               caliber = 5.2;
	hit = 31.5;
	explosive = 0.3;
	indirecthit = 12;
	indirecthitrange = 0.3;

All other params can be inherited from B_127x99_Ball_Tracer_Red (for tracers) and B_127x99_Ball (no tracer) A3 class.

Hey, thx for the config. I was thinking of 12.7mm befor but forgot about the raufoss so i went for the 20mm. But in this case 12.7mm raufoss it is to simulate GAU-19. But i like the two LB variants, one with DAR and one with DAGR. Maybe one with 14 DAR and one with 14 DAGR?

Sad thing is that the vanilla LB has no useful proxies for real LAU-68D and GAU-19 :(

And what do you mean with "modular"? Releasing LB, Hunter, ect. in single mods?

Why separate DAR and DAGR, anyway? Aren't they same in terms of damage and etc params, the only exception being ability to lock-on and adjust their flying path a bit, while still being able to use dumb-fire mode?

It's 2035 in A3 anyway... To balance them a bit and make it less powerful than AH-99, hit on DAGR can be lowered, possibly (it's hit=800 on AH-99 DAGR AFAIR)

But honestly, they are the same DAGRs as on AH-99... from what i was able to find, both Hydra 70 (DAR) and DAGR share same M151 warhead.

After reconsider the LB i'll go for this:

One AH variant with 2x GAU-19B inspired guns, two rocket pods containing 7x DAR and 7x DAGR like LAU-68D/A rocket pods. rlex, good argumentation ;)

Any ideas how to make the rockets visible in the pods? Custom mags make them disapear...

"Because Fuck You" Fluffy FTW xD

Durin the time i was retexturing the hunter some strange thing with Pink Fluffy Unicorns was going on in our community. So i made that for fun. I would be pretty surprised if somebody would really use it in a mission :D

Back to the Little Birds... I got them all reconfigured with new ammo for the guns and rockets. But i have a strange problem i cant solve. How can i tell the DAR only to fire from the left pod and the DAR from the right pod? I'm looking for ages but can't find infos to this...

I assume it's the

maverickWeaponIndexOffset

parameter. This is used with the Wipeout for example, but has no effect on the DAR/DAGR rockets on the LB... I will keep testing...

It should be working. I'm using the Little Bird base models and HMD is refering to that. It's working on my end.
