R9700 problems big time

Ok I just got my R9700, and I'm using the latest 2.3 Catalyst drivers.

If I load the game with T&L enabled, it gets to the bit where it displays the Codemasters logo, then the next screen with the text (which is now slightly garbled), then it crashes to desktop.

If I don't use T&L, the game loads fine, but the menu (with the game engine running in the background), is unbearably slow. It takes around 30s of persistent clicking just to exit the game again

Can anyone help me?

Ok if I use the older drivers off the CD that came with my 9700 (Catalys 2.2), OFP plays great except for the Shadow problem.

So currently I'm playing with Object and Vehicle shadows turned off..

Another forum member indicated the other day that ATI's technical support people are checking into the myriad of problems with the drivers, and have promised a fix for the next release or so.

Yes, and thinking of ATIs driver support you might get lucky getting a new driver late 2003

Unluckily, I don&#39;t own a Radeon 9700 by myself, but a friend of mine has one, and he says, that the new driver simply rox ass, it fixes many bugs with direct3d games and so on...

Well I just got mine yesterday and I had problems with it and OFPR. I was able to play OFP at 1800x1440 and it looks hella cool. I was able to get OFPR working by setting the AGP fromm 256 to 64 mb, but it runs like crap. The shadowing is bad and when I alt tab out and go back in, everything is so dark I cant play. This also happened on AA and DF4-BHD demo. I got so pissed last night that I put my MSI Ti4600 back in........no problems there. I will try to reinstall it this weekend and try out some other things, but I don&#39;t think it will help til they fix the drivers, oh yeah I was using the 6166.

The only way to fix the problem is to send whichever card you aren&#39;t using at the moment to me.

Well with a little effort I was able to get it working with both versions. This card is awesome. I knew it couldn&#39;t be the card. I had to do some regediting to wipe out all and I mean all of the other driver files that where on my HD(in safe mode) then install the 6178 drivers.. It does seem to have a couple little glitches though like when I alt tab out of any game then go back into it, the gamma is darker than what it is set for? So i have to go to the option screen ingame and reset gamma. A small price to pay....for the awesome frame rates. I&#39;m sure this will be fixed in up coming drivers...
