C-17 Globemaster lll - ArmA 2 Mod (Alpha Stage, needs lots of work)

C-17 Globemaster lll (v1.6)

INTRODUCTION

I will begin by saying this. I DID NOT MAKE THIS MOD. ALL CREDITS GO TO THE ORIGINAL CREATOR MUKCEP

This project has gone from person to person but was never completed. I was able to get the mod through a friend who told me that no one is willing to complete at this point so it will most likely stay the way it is now. If I had known how to make mods, I would have done it myself, but I don't know a thing about coding to begin with, so I'm asking the entire ArmA Modding Community to help finish it and hopefully release it to the public in a Beta or even a complete form and to continue working on it from there.

While I don't know how to make a mod either, I will report any bugs I find that might be outside what you have in your OP. I wish you the best in completing this epic project for the coolest transport of them all in my opinion.

First issue I have noticed is in the editor: No icon for the plane. Makes placing it, well...difficult at best, funny to deadly at worst.

Noted Sonsalt, the play.withsix mod is screwed up, it does not load the icon in-game, nor will the C-17 appear in-game

Good job! I currently have the C-17 mod from ArmA 2 and I have ported it over to ArmA 3 for private use. I currently have most things working on my privately used mod. I have fixed the seating for the passengers going through them, and I have also fixed players jumping out and dying. If you need any help with the current issues on your C-17 mod, just go ahead and PM me. I will be glad to give you my files that I have modified. There are also "hidden" features in Desktop's C-17. Like user 18 (forgot the actual number) makes the plane take off a lot quicker/increases speed.

Edit: Oh ya... I have also added ArmA 3 engine particle effects on the engines.

Its about time a C-17 is released. I have seen many images and videos all over the internet and even different versions of the craft (playable, in-game ones) in clans/groups modpacks or on someones youtube channel that it seems like the craft is for private use only. As far as I know, this is the first public release of a C-17. Thanks for that!

This is awesome!!! I tested it and made some nice Screenshots and Videos. But there are Bugs which i noticed:

-If you put AI or Player in Cargo they will sit kinda weird.

-You can use the Rear Ramp Action everywhere within a 15-20 Meter Radius to the plane :?

-You can run thru the whole plane which is kinda funny.

I think you already know about all these points but i just wanted to remind you of them.

One the other hand:

-The plane looks great and can load even more then just 4 litte HMMWV`s. I made it to load 3 M2A3 Bradley`s and 2 Stryker with a HMMWV.

-The Cockpit is just awesome. But there are only 2 seats which is kinda strange if you have 2 co-pilots and one navigator.

Thanks for letting me know about that, I will update my post with it. Also, the seats for the Co-Pilot and Navigator were not made I believe, if I knew how to model, I would make them.

Hi,

is it possible to remove that shiny layer all over the plane ? i noticed that on a few planes ported from a sim too.

it look´s like a skin over the real outside surface.

Thanks for the MOD! Really pleased with it, good job mate. Mind, I am having difficulties entering the cockpit, whereas my player is standing halfway through the cockpit window in a weapon drawn position. Any ideas what could be causing this? I am asking because somebody above commented on how awesome the cockpit looked, so I am assuming it's probably just me having this issue. I am running game version 1.12. Wow! I feel like the stupidest man alive. I was just browsing through Armaholic news and this mod popped up, guess I was still asleep(good excuse?), so like an excited child I clicked and downloaded without checking what Arma version it's actually for. Anyway thanks for spotting my now apparent obvious Patrick Stewart face-palm worthy error. But, now I know I can use this as a prop for A3 mission making, so not all is lost.
