Mission name ingame:

co_14@_i44_Operation_North_Wind_v1.0_(SAN)

Mission Description:

Operation North Wind was the last major German offensive of World War II on the Western Front.

It began on 31 December 1944 in Alsace and Lorraine in northeastern France, and it ended on 25 January.

Attack on the Vosges ridge 1 to 6 January:

The offensive began without artillery preparation in the last evening of 31 December 1944. The mountainous and forested terrain section in the Vosges was only held by the Task Force Hudelson, who had the attacking German forces oppose only a little. In the morning hours of the 4th January Wingen was occupied by german forces.

Conquer Wingen.

Installation:

Extract the .pbo file(s) to your ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead\MPMissions folder.

Requirements:

- Arma 2

- Invasion 1944 - D-Day

- Community Base addons

- Invasion 1944 - D-Day Patch #5

- Thirsk Winter

There is more to come on Thirsk.

The island Thirsk works fine with the i44 Mod and is great for displaying the fighting on the Western Front and in the middle of Germany, as the forests in these areas consist of 90% of coniferous vegetation. The geography is conclusive. The time between autumn 1944 and spring 1945 can be well depicted on Thirsk.

In this case I use Thirsk to represent a part of the French Vosges.

- The mission was tested well with beta patch "ARMA2 OA Build 103718".
