Why the antisemitic tone?

I guess he is being ironic about some of the Russian speeches saying that the Jews are the origin of all evils in the world.

(Anton Shekhovtsov's blog) (Pro-)Russian extremists in 2006 and 2014

In August 2006, Russian fascist Aleksandr Dugin and his Eurasian Youth Union (ЕвразийÑкий Ñоюз молодежи, ESM) organised a summer camp where ultranationalist activists were further indoctrinated and trained to fight against democratic movements in neighbouring independent states.

(Reuters) INSIGHT-As Ukraine forces gain in east, focus of German diplomacy shifts

After months of ratcheting up pressure on Vladimir Putin, concern is mounting in Berlin and other European capitals that an emboldened Ukraine's military successes in the east are reducing the chances of a face-saving way out of the crisis for the Russian leader.

Thats actually amazing how quickly they did that.

BBC (UA) - Russian documents have been found in the captured BMD

Basically russia just going "Oh yeah, those are not ours. Ukraine also uses those BMDs, so they must have been captured. Our BMDs of which we have about 60 in the entire country are way better. Yeah, we do kinda have thousands of old BMDs standing around, but those don't count. Oh and all documents are fake. What do you mean you have photos and videos of the BMDs crossing the border? Those all must be fake. That never happened. THERE WERE NO RUSSIAN SOLDIERS IN CRIMEA!!!" again.

Yeah, it may not have been their exact phrasing, but there you go.

Yeah I know I haven't been able to find it though and I need to go get ready for work. No big deal if the question isn't answered though. I just thought he looked familiar and I thought someone mentioned him being captured or a traitor or something like that. The video had them standing by a convoy on the side of the road. Talking about how the government screwed them.

EDIT: Found it:

It would be easier if there weren't so many videos of people talking by convoys about how the government screwed them. Anyway, have fun at work, I'm just preparing to go to sleep on the other side of the world.

Edit: Hmm, maybe, for me the guys don't look alike at all, but these also didn't.

Edit 2: Holy crap, the article is much bigger and much more conclusive now, you guys may consider a re-read.

(TheInterpreter) Evidence of Russia's 76th Guards Air Assault Division in Southeast Ukraine

A number of recent stories indicate that the 76th Guards Air Assault Division of Russian Airborne Troops from Pskov has been continuing to fight in Ukraine. A decree published on the Kremlin's website, a report of documents seized in battle by Ukrainian forces, and a report of a Pskov soldier's death have come together to help validate recurring reports of Russian military presence in southeastern Ukraine.

(Reuters) For embattled Ukraine rebels, no time to honor the dead

Pro-Moscow rebels in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk are taking such heavy losses in fighting with advancing government troops they no longer have time to give their comrades a proper burial.

(BBC) Russian aid convoy moves across border into Ukraine

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it was "not part of that convoy in any way".

So it seems that finally the Russian "humanitarian" convoy has entered, without being check what was inside, without the authorization of the Ukrainian Gov and obviously without the guarantees of the Red Cross or the OSCE.

Another Georgia? ( Georgians attacked "peaceful" Russian peacekeepers, now I guess Ukraine attack peaceful convoy, etc. ).

BTW the Russian Ministry has issued an official press release saying that they comply and collaborate with the Red Cross ( when the Red Cross has already stated that the Russian Gov didn't meet the requirements and that they don't support this convoy ).

( Russian ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Russian ) Statement of the MFA of Russia in connection with the beginning of the delivery of Russian humanitarian aid in the south-eastern regions of Ukraine

It seemed that the situation was resolved on August 21, when the Ukrainian government and, finally, the ICRC reported their readiness to proceed to the design of humanitarian supplies for immediate shipment to Lugansk

( Al Jazeera ) Russia aid convoy moving into Ukraine

More than 200 trucks had been held at the border zone over Ukraine's concerns that Russia had not complied with International Red Cross rules regarding humanitarian aid.

( BBC ) Ukraine crisis: Russia aid trucks 'an invasion'

The risk of the Russian aid convoy causing a further deterioration in relations with Ukraine is now very high. Because the International Committee of the Red Cross is not part of the convoy, the government in Kiev may choose not to recognise it as a humanitarian mission.

The lorries are currently being accompanied by pro-Russian gunmen. So the convoy is likely to be stopped at the front line near the besieged city of Luhansk. Or if it tries to work its way around the Ukrainian government forces, there is a risk of it being attacked - accidentally or intentionally.

The Russian foreign ministry has already a clear sent warning that if the convoy is attacked, Moscow may take action.

why did the red cross didn wanted to acompany the convoy? didn they check together with the OSCE the convoy and its goods before the crossed the border? and wat if Ukraine attack it,then wat?prob gone blame Russia again for it and with the west backing them. and still this crap and the shelling of towns and city's go's on,and russian speaking ppl get chased out of their homes and villages, cut off from gas, power, water, and food.

And its only Ukraine thats worried about its content and red cross happely go's along with it?!

This is a mess.....

Yesterday or hours ago the main news did report that the convoy was checked by the Red Cross and the organisation leads the trucks, furthermore it was checked by ukrainian customs. The convoy did stuck since almost a week at the boarder, first the Ukraine did not accept a boarder crossing because they are claiming it could be used as a cloak for a russian intervention.

On the weekend they did recognize the convoy as humanitarian help.

On the other hand civilians are really in need of help and there were so many talks about aid, russia was the only country who did send a convoy. I never heard about any action about aid from the Ukraine or other countries.

Do they want to help the civilians or not ?

Another Georgia? ( Georgians attacked "peaceful" Russian peacekeepers, now I guess Ukraine attack peaceful convoy, etc. ).

Ah...common, russia has its part in the ukrainian conflict but I remember too well the accusations of aggressions against Russia and the claims in the media, at the end it started with an invasion of Georgia to reclaim territory.

In 2009 after almost a year of investigations, the EU court did come to the conclusion that Georgia did start the conflict and the action of russia was covered by international law.

Well the people there wouldn´t be in this shit if Russia didn´t start an uprising on Ukrainian soil in the first place.

This is a way too easy answer and does not represent the whole situation and responsibilities for action....

The Red Cross checked the convoy yesterday, but not today ( so anything could be added in the convoy ), besides that the Red Cross said that there was no agreement between the Ukrainian Gov and the pro-Russians / Russians. So that they are not involved and would not escort that convoy.

On the other hand civilians are really in need of help and there were so many talks about aid, russia was the only country who did send a convoy. I never heard about any action about aid from the Ukraine or other countries.

In fact yesterday the ICRC was precisely saying:

The ICRC and the Ukrainian Red Cross have delivered part of the aid, consisting of perishable goods, donated by the Ukrainian authorities to a number of towns in eastern Ukraine, including Starobilsk, Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk. The distribution of goods such as fruit and vegetables has already reached over 20,000 displaced people in shelters and hospitals.

Invaded WHAT ?

South Ossetia was part of Georgia country (see international borders) and what Georgia did was actually fully successful police action against "rebels with GRADs" (shelling georgia native villages) until Russia invaded ...

also what EU court? can you link us please to rulling of such court?

First. The Red Cross always require an agreement between both parts ( the condition of the ICRC to help Russia with the convoy was precisely an agreement Russia-Ukraine ).

Second. As I have already posted, the Red Cross is already helping and giving humanitarian support to the people of Eastern Ukraine ( just that it's not related to the Russian convoy ).

Third. The Red Cross is more than an NGO, it's an International Corps like the OSCE or the UN.

Obviously non of that organizations would do anything in Ukraine without the Ukraine's Gov authorization, which is the only legit and recognized Gov in Ukraine ( yeah including Crimea ).

Already at the end of World War 1, Georgia claimed the territory of South Ossetia. This did lead to an uprising and to the Georgian-South Ossetia War 1918-20. Shortly afterwards the Sovjetunion did occupy whole Georgia and established the Autonomous Oblast South Ossetia.

The Autonomous South Ossetia existed until 1990 and in the same year South Ossetia decleared independence from Georgia.

In 1991-92 the so called 1st Georgia-Ossetia war did start which was no less than a sequal of the ethno-political conflict and Georgia did try to claim the territory.

In 1992 a cease fire agreement was signed.

In 2004, Micheil Saakaschwili the President of Georgia did present a plan to the UN-conference to solve the conflict and an integration of South Ossetia and Abchasia under Georgian rule. Both countries did reject the plan.

In the same year there were several shootouts between Georgia and South Ossetia, a new cease fire agreement between both countries was signed and a demilitarization of South Ossetia.

In 2006 the USA requested russia to support South Ossetia government no longer.

In 2006 elections were hold about the question of independance from Georgia, which more than 90% did vote for. In parts of the occupied areas by Georgia, elecitons were hold aswell and more than 90% voted for a Federation.

In 2007 Georgia established a provisory administration of South Ossetia for the controlled areas.

Just some parts of the infos before it did lead to the conflict in 2008, you will find more infos on wikipedia and also about the role of russia.....I will try to find later a link about the EU investigations in 2009.

edit: its not about an "EU court" but an "EU report"...in my langauge both words are similar, was a missread. I think you will find this with google or on wikipedia.
