Ukraine General

Recommended Posts

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32085544

The reporter asks the OSCE official whether they have access to the whole border and he answers that they don't. When she asks the russian general the same question he says that the OSCE have access to the whole border and that the OSCE publications confirm that, which the OSCE representative and the OSCE reports deny.

Just a weird and somewhat awkward situation, where the russian general just lies about the OSCE in front of the OSCE. Edited by beastcat

Sorry to interrupt folks, I'll admit myself to be quite ignorant of the goings on, I've been reading the thread but don't believe myself the type of person that is really good for discussions for something quite like this.

I was just curious about one thing, and that perhaps I missed some information on it on a few off days but...

Why are there so many fingers pointed at the west or in particular, the US? What about other European powers such as Germany, France, the the UK?

Is it the super power status or something else?

I think it´s the old USA vs. Soviet Union thing. It´s quite easy for the average Russian to accept the US as an enemy because it´s basically tradition by now.

(BBC) Crimean Tatar media 'silenced by Russia'

Media serving the ethnic Tatar minority in Russian-occupied Crimea have shut down after failing to register with the new pro-Moscow authorities.

There are accusations that the Kremlin is silencing a group often critical of its actions.

Many in the mainly Muslim Tatar community distrust the new administration, installed when Russian troops and local paramilitaries annexed the Ukrainian region a year ago.

Welcome Under the Dome.

Because the US has a history of involvement in both global and local affairs. Sometimes rightfully, other times not so much. Other countries, including NATO allies, Germany or UK, on the other hand, haven't contributed much to wars or revolutions in the post-WW2 ('modern') era.

Why do they think they are still entitled to get pensions from Ukraine? I don't know if they noticed, but there is a war going on and they are not even on government controlled territory anymore. If they really want their pensions so bad, they should complain to russia now.

I think it´s quite funny that they expect payments from a country that they claim not to be a part of any more. Well if they really think that Novorossija is a new independent country then they should expect their pensions from them, cause that´s how it usually works. Also nice how they are telling people that the aid is from Russia but fail to mention that there is also a lot from UNICEF and the EU.

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad, the fact that the Russian funded Rebels are asking money from the legit Government of Ukraine that they are fighting against.

So the whole point is something like:

We don't want to depend from Ukraine's Gov. but we want their money and resources... Russia started a war in our land and we supported it, but now Russia don't give a s... about food or services... :j:

German main news report from "Tagesschau", state TV Channel One:

Propaganda in the Ukraine-Conflict: Freedom of the Press under pressure

The first casualty of war is the truth, they say. It can be seen in the Ukraine conflict how true this statement is correct once again. Because the press is severely restricted - on Russian and Ukrainian side.

Report Content:

* Most famous TV Talk-Show in the Ukraine under pressure, named "Shuster Live".

A journalist from the russian state media took part in a discussion in this Talk-Show and critisized the administration in Kiev. As a result, the Ukrainian braodcasting council fine the editorial staff of Shuster Live, a private TV channel even deletes the Show completely from their programm.

* Ukrainian Military - killing civilians

That Ukrainian Military is killing civilians aswell doesnt want their Press Officer confirm until nowadays.

* Own population of the East Ukraine - generalized and represented as Terrorists

The inhabitants of the east Ukraine, still often named as "the rest" or are just represented to this day as "Terrorists".

In the meanwhile around 15 russian TV Channels were banned by the Government.

The new and controversial minister of the Ministry of Information says:

--> "He does not want to censor, at least no balanced reporting Journalists. For him it is about a uniform information policy and respect for the Ukrainian flag."

The created "Cyber Army" by the Ministry of Information has the aim to spread the view of the Kiev Government.

Information Minister: "We will never create something which is untrue or to mislead people. We only want to reveal russian false reports."

Patriotism is normal in war, says Hromatske TV and one of their Journalists adds:

"But Propganda does not help against Propaganda - only the truth", says one of the few Journalists who work in the Donbas region.

"You have to talk to the people in this region, but not with an attitude like: your thoughts are wrong and now you have to think different".....

Flags, Cyber Armies and Information Minister - all that does not bring a true peace, says the Journalist.

Russia's Lavrov calls for pull-back of more weapons in Ukraine

Both sides in the conflict in Ukraine could pull back weapons under 100mm caliber from the front line in a bid to boost confidence in a ceasefire, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday.

Lavrov said parties involved in the conflict as well as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were discussing what could be done on the top of the Minsk agreement which, among other measures, involved the pullback of weapons with caliber over 100mm, including large artillery, heavy mortar and powerful rocket systems.

"It is necessary to monitor keeping mainly the military part of the Minsk agreements....There is a possibility to pull back troops with caliber under 100mm," Lavrov said.

"We will try to help the sides to reach such an agreement, which would increase mutual confidence," Lavrov told a news conference during a visit to Slovakia.

New Ukrainian Bill Threatens to Intern Russians Citizens Living in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Poroshenko has submitted a bill to his country's parliament allowing

for the internment of Russian citizens living in Ukraine.

Russian citizens living in Ukraine can be interned in line with the bill on "The legal regime of martial law", submitted by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to his country's parliament on Friday. According to a memorandum to the bill, "measures on the legal regime of martial law include internment (forced settlement) of nationals of a foreign state which threatens to attack or carries out aggression against Ukraine."

On January 27, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a bill recognizing Russia as an aggressor country.

In February, the amendments to the bill on martial law were endorsed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, which stressed the necessity of the new document being in line with current realities.

In late December 2014, President Poroshenko said that a martial law would be introduced if the ceasefire agreement on eastern Ukraine was violated. "No one will doubt even for a minute", the Ukrainian President said at the time.

The ceasefire regime, which has been in force in Donbass since February 15, is generally being observed, although though there are reports of shootings in some areas.

Ukraine to triple gas imports from Russia in April - Russian minister

Ukraine has asked for 1 billion cubic metres of gas imports from Russia in April, trebling the amount it received in March, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Saturday.

Novak said that Ukraine will need to buy about 11-12 billion cubic metres during the summer to replenish its reserves and prepare for winter when consumption substantially increases.

Novak also said that Ukraine's imports of gas from Europe through the so-called "reverse-flow" option to substitute for Russian supplies raise legal concerns and may force Moscow to take legal actions.

Under "reverse flows", European Union countries send gas back down pipelines normally used to carry Russian supplies through Ukraine to the West.

The apple doesnt fall far from the tree, isnt it.

You could exchange in this comic the Ukraine with several other nations and the St. Claus with his present with nations from the west, and thats sad.

Missing role models in our world nowadays.

There are no "good" and "bad" ones in absolute meaning (well, who can say IS isn't a bad one ?), but on the given subject, the bad ones are the one that invades the others.

That's too simple for a definition.

Leader Of Ukraine's Far Rightwing-Radicals Appointed As Advisor to Chief of General Staff

Dmytro Yarosh, leader of ‘Pravyi Sector’ (Right Sector) political party, appointed as Advisor to Chief of General Staff. Yesterday, Colonel General Viktor Muzhenko, Chief of General Staff, and Dmytro Yarosh agreed the format of cooperation between ‘Pravyi Sector’ and the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Colonel General Viktor Muzhenko stressed the Ukrainian army had become one of the strongest armies of Europe; the Ukrainian soldiers proved they knew how to fight and appreciated the contribution of volunteer battalions to defense of Ukraine and said: “We understand the needs of changes and increase of efficiency at all the army levels. We also consider various models of formation of the army reserve. We are developing the reforms and will implement them. We gathered all the patriots and defenders of Ukraine under single leadership. The enemy understands our unity and that its attempts end in failure. We have one goal and the united Ukraine. The Army becomes stronger each weekâ€.

Dmytro Yarosh underlined the unity was the key precondition for further successful fighting and demonstrated the readiness to establish the cooperation and integration of volunteer battalions to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

‘Pravyi Sector’ is ready to be subordinated to military leaders in issues related to defense of state from the external enemy.

Russian artillery? lol

Probably according to CNN and BBC. hahaha

Did you found any proof that is Russian Artillery? I suppose No.

What Hitler is doing in WW2, that now doing Germany, USA, NATO and EU, against Russia.

But the end to new the Nazi and Fascist governement is very, very close. Soon Ukraine will be free from nazi's

Most countries that joined to EU are on on the brink of bankruptcy, just look at Greece, Italy have worst social problem then some country in Africa, Austria want to leave euro zone, same for Czech, Zeman says he don't want to see american emassy in Czech.

After all war crimes that america and nato do from 1945 until now, and you still believe in this shit? Compare war history between USA and Russia. How many Vietnamese and cambodian peope's died from americans napalm bombs, panama, iraq, cuba, afghanistan, yugoslavia, bomb's with uranium. In every war, they are first to join, why, because to colonize the country.

Death to fascism, freedom to the people!
