Today it is the first anniversary of foundation of PFC. It was busy but exciting year for us. We would like to share with you the most important events that took place over the last year that influenced PFC and OFP/ARMA:CWA community.

GameSpy shutdown and Community Masterserver

  • On 31st of May (effectively on 31st of July) GameSpy servers were closed. In effect the in-game browser of OFP/ARMA:CWA stopped working. Thanks to Poweruser's effort it was possible to overcome this difficult situation. Poweruser created a program that alternates the former GameSpy masterserver by a new one that is hosted by PFC. As a result, OFP/ARMA:CWA multiplayer was saved.

Steam giveaway and newcomers

  • From 15th till 19th of May it was possible to get ARMA:CWA for free on Steam. It caused an enormous wave of new players. There were not enough servers for ARMA:CWA to make space for all the players. New servers started to flourish like newer before. It was a serious push for many die-hard hardcore OFP players to move to ARMA:CWA. Even though the wave ended within a month, some of the new players decided to stay with the game for good.

OFP to ARMA:CWA transition

  • PFC was founded as a community of polish OFP players. Because of events mentioned above we had to reconsider the new situation that occured in OFP/ARMA:CWA community. PFC decided to transit to ARMA:CWA. So did the PFC server. The other reason behind the transition was difficulty of OFP purchase as the game is not available in retail stores nor through digital distribution.

New PFC profile

  • At the beginning of PFC activity it was considered as a universal community. Within last months, gaining new players and experience, we decided to abandon that idea. PFC uses WGL5 (Wargames League) mod as its base for multiplayer games. The mod guarantees a number of high quality missions and provides proper gameplay.

PFC in social media

  • It is important for PFC to keep in touch with its players and the game fans. It is the reason behind creation of PFC's social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ or Steam. We are going to share some videos on our YouTube profile soon.

This is all that we prepared for you. We would like to thank all the OFP/ARMA-series creators and players for their participation and making these games so wonderful. All best in 2015!

Nice video.

I see Gemenis is still around. I know this may not be the right place to ask this, but how's the work on Silent War going?
