v11 demo mission includes

- support for the forthcoming F105 Thunderchief (E and F) by hcpookie (will be released in in unsung 2.6) - only for uns_missilebox

- support for the F22 (CAP version) - works with stock, GLT, PRACS, RKSL and EB_missilebox air weapons - 6-7 combat roles for each set.

Release notes v8:

- cfg classnames developed so you can load the new loadouts straight to the editor without needing the re-arm script

- demo mission included with all new aircraft on the airbase in Takistan with both

- modified AH64 versions to: Longbow, Sea Apache, Guardian, etc with improved armour, speed, radar to suit roles.

- added AGS to Mi24 Hind (CAS)!

- added enemies to chak chak in demo mission for testing the kit quickly

These guys have all been really helpful to me over the years, and encouraged me to develop my knowledge and understanding.

Purpose of the mod:

The aim of this mod is to convert stock aircraft to work with many new features

This mod brings together a range of ideas and elements for mission makers to use all together and seamlessly, across the full range of stock aircraft.

Many parts were originally developed by other modders for their own aircraft - see credits.

I have repacked their work or developed new code from their ideas and adapted a lot of material to work with all stock aircraft up to 1.62 including ACR. This is no way compromises any other mods, it simply extends the ideas to the stock aircraft.

We have made a lot of changes to original scripts and tested them for the last month, so it's pretty much bug-free

The mod is intended to work in my new Evolution Universe mission due soon. It will also be ported to Arma3.

To balance the gameplay I have seriously reduced your fuel - choppers and planes will run out of fuel if in the air for more than 20 minutes, so keep an eye on your fuel gauge, and remember where the nearest refuel station is - i always felt arma had put too much fuel in vehicles as they almost never run low.

Modified weapon loadouts using EB_missilebox (included)

The EB_missilebox mod also adapts the stock (and some unsung models) to provide the following weapon types:

I originally played around with PRACS / RKSL / GLT aircraft and weapons to see how they had developed their weapons.

This mod is inspired by that work, and a lot of research into weapon types available to the stock aircraft.

Limitations:

has need of some models at the moment - this is WIP, hoping to bring in some FRL models in due course

the littlebirds are WIP - I'm in the process of trying to sort out their turrets, so beware they have some mad seating options at the moment.

Remember - always get in as gunner then pilot to rearm a plane or chopper with turrets on a dedicated server, and press manual fire button to use the gunner weapons

the afterburner is in the action menu and also on shortcuts: turbo key ON and crouch key OFF

the wheel brake is in the action menu but also on the "crouch" key. if you accidentally hit it (under 200km/h and on the ground or deck of the LHD), don't fight it, just let it get below 20 then accelerate again.

I added AB to some planes that don't realistically have them - this is just a "thruster" to allow the planes to reach their true max speed, as they can't get anywhere near it normally. anyway makes for good fun.

ACE mod

beware - i've had feedback already that this does not work well with ACE, especially the rearming script, as ACE changes the pylons on stock aircraft (like AH1Z) - if someone familiar with ACE and scripting could volunteer i can show what is needed to make an ACE rearm script.

Please bear in mind - I cannot model! I have never been near O2 so this is all jerry-rigged from stock models, with a few kind donations from Unsung dev team. So yes the Apache is carrying an S8 launcher in place of a CRV7 launcher, and the Su25 has a ub16 instead of an S13 launcher model, but don't sweat the small stuff - just enjoy the real weapons and don't look too closely at the models. In time i'm hoping all this will change, with some input from certain community modeling gods...

This shows how I have renamed the burst types to:

|, || and ||| for single, dual burst and auto fire for bombs and rockets

proper ammo names for

HE (high explosive)

HEI (high explosive incendiary)

APHE (armour penetrating high explosive)

AP (armour piercing)

HEAT (high explosive anti tank)

Tandem HEAT (reactive armour penetrating)

TB (Thermobaric - uses fuel/air mix to create a pressure wave to crack bunkers etc)

Note: do yourself a favour - NEVER google images for napalm or clusterbombs. Those pics will stay with you forever... they really should never be used in combat.

GBU's can lock GPS/INS system, (FRL Mykes system put onto stock planes) - this is available as cockpit action, and in my missions as a GPS action in the sniper/spotter role

Hi eggbeast, think i found you on steam if you're image is arma 2 related, won't mention your name in case that's private!. And with regards to being an ex bootie i did join the Royal Artillery when i was 18, got kicked out at 19 and spent 28 days at her majesty's leisure in the Glass House in D wing. So yeah i dipped my toe in i guess, not much to write home about. But if i learned one thing from it all, that is i have the utmost respect for the Armed Forces. That's over 25 years ago now, crikey i'm getting old! ;)

Nice addon, but i cant understand use of AH-64, i cant guide Hellfire, cant with radar cant with laser, cant lock targets. I search in readmes, here, and i cant understand as use hellfires in AH-64 and AH-1.

assuming youre using my rearm mission?

it's not necessary for everything but shows more off until the cfg version is ready

try this:

start mision

1. get in as gunner

2. get out

3 get in as pilot

4. select rearm ah64

5. click AGM role

6. wait 60s while it rearms

7. fly up in air, face south to mountain (taki mission), select autohover

8. right click to use Heinbloeds cockpit switch

9. in gunner seat select laserdesignator and fire it ON

10. switch to AGM114k or R model.

11. press TAB - sometime you need to be hovering for a half minute or so to "identify" your lasertarget - if it doesnt show up as red dot on radar moving about with your crosshair, maybe click in and out of gunner seat again and turn it on and off (like all good tech !)

12. fire when the helicopter is facing the same way you are targeting - use the radar indicator to make sure youre not looking off to 3 o clock etc

some missiles will lock IR, some will lock laser, some will lock laser and IR, some will manual guide, and some will manual guide or IR or laser, depending on the technology.

if you have any questions about specific missiles i will try to answer them and improve the readme

thanks man, i'm trying to do a RobertHammer with aircraft here - take all the best features available and make them work in many varieties... once we do the configged variant (needs models - in discussion) the AI can use them too and people can use the planes with the re-arms without needing to usecockpit script, although i think that its better to use it as you need only spawn a couple of each type of aircraft to have all modes available at airbase.

Not, i not use you mission, i only go to editor, add AH-64 or AH-1 and fly. With gunner not problem, off course, but if i try pilot seat (RMB for select TADS page) only have laserseeker and strobes, and cant mesure range with TAB. This add without this Cockpit Loadout script not work?

And when launch the game with mod, appear error, Addon 'EB_Air' requires addon CAAir_ACR'.

ok, i strongly recommend using this mod at the moment with the demo mission script as it provides you with 7 loadouts per airplane or helicopter.

The loadouts are drawn either from stock BIS weapons or mods if you run them (and choose the parameter) - PRACS, RKSL, and EB_Air all work well.

There will soon be support for unsung 2.6 and GLT/ FRL missilebox too.

Try it with EB_Air selected in parameters, or if you load in editor, open the mission and edit the init file in wordpad or notepad++ to change the value editor to

editor=1;

vecmods=1;

this will then load the mission with the new EB_missilebox air weaponry.

If you just take a stock AH64 it only has stock BIS hellfires on it, so you are relying on the stock targeting system, which I have not changed. There is very little point in doing this, as it does not make use of the wide range of new loadouts that come with the rearm script - either for example, stock weapons or my EB_missilebox ones.

the ACR error you have is referring to ACR_lite - google it. It's a BIS stock addon that everyone should probably have...

In time I intend to make all of the variants as config versions so you can load them in the game and AI can use them. But it takes some time to do this, and I'm waiting on a model use discussion at the moment.
