AMD X2 4400+ @2.5/2gig DDR500/XFX 8800GTS 640mb
X-Fi Fatality/Windows XP Home/OCZ 700 watt power supply
By the way my other main components in the system are as follows:
AMD XP 2000+
Radeon 8500 64mb
Shuttle AK35GTR
Win2K
Maxtor 60g HD 7200rpm
I don't think it will give much performance increase, unless you're using (very) high detail terrain combined with a large viewdistance.
This hasn't got much to do with OFP Troubleshooting, therefore moving to Off-Topic![]()
No, AFAIK, OFP only uses 256MB of RAM.
OFPR needs another 128MB on top of that.

You said that res needs 384mb of RAM. I got 318mb and I'm getting the memory map thing practally constantly. Would adding 128mb RAM help that. I've deleted a lot of addons.
it worked for my system, though i never had that 'memory map' problem. but i also have only a few addons that gets loaded when i start OFP. I also have very small number of programs that are preloaded with Windows.

simple way would be opening that program, and then go through options to see if they have 'load at startup' option. if they have it, uncheck it.
otherwise, they have StartUp folder in ProgramFiles=>Startup.
take those programs down.(though you might want to take caution.)
