Australian defense force - amp unit

SITREP: THIS MOD IS NOW OUT OF DATE! DO NOT FEAR, IT HAS HAD A MAJOR TURN IN DEVELOPMENT AND IS NOW CALLED ADF UNCUT, SEE HERE.

Notable Features: Fully textured DPCU, DPDU, AMP, AMP-JW, AMPOP (OPFOR), STEYR F88a2.

Near Future: Full infantry arsenal ranging from the Steyr F90, Mag58 to ASLAV.

HOTFIX 1.06 DOWNLOAD: ADF_AMP Hotfix 1.06

Fixed signature file for FHQ M4 Mod. Follow the instructions, it's just a copy and paste.

Install:

Copy/cut and paste the @ADF_AMP folder directly into your main Arma 3 directory.

Replace files it says to replace.

The major change is that I have removed the Steyr's because the quality wasn't going to improve from where they were. There are some modders working on the F-90 Steyr's, so hopefully we can integrate those into the mod in the near future.

Future plans include SASR, 2nd Commandos, armoured and air vehicles like the UH-60 and ASLAV.

I intend to incorporate the new AMP texture as the "Desert/Woodland" Uniform and to use the current as the "Woodland/Jungle" Uniform. These textures will cross over to their vehicular counterparts.

For the next release I intend to mix up the vests and helmets on the troops to add some personality to the soldiers; to the point their may be several variations of one vest with different scuff marks/tears and different voices for each class.

Long term goals are to create an entire standalone Australian Defense Force Mod, and there are some new developments in the mix with someone other characters.

Was LITERALLY wondering out loud to a friend on steam just then about when someone would make a reskin of the NATO soldiers in Australian MultiCam. Nice work! I don't know if it's the lighting but it seems like it might be slightly on the brown side for new stuff, although if you're shooting for a 'well used' look it's definitely about on the money.

Nicely done though! :D

Glad you fellas like the mod :) I am still working on my DPDU version aswell, which should be finished soon. Just gotta get my config scripting soughted. Thx for the frontpage Foxhound, very awesome! Now that you mention it r3volution the seams are a bit brown and dirtied but I think it suits Stratis, however upon full release of the game I am hoping to have sharpened my camo creating skills and config skills to have best suited camo for the big island. If anyone has the skills to edit the config.bin to add more units I would be more than happy to shake your hand for doing so.

I got multiple factions working in the same config on my DPCU addon by adding a new class for each faction under the CfgPatches Class and again under the cfgFactionClasses if thats what you're trying to do. I then added a new soldier base for each faction

Adding more soldiers to an existing faction is as simple as copy and pasting a soldier and then editing the number/name to something new.

Was going to say as above ^^^ it's not too hard. You could start by depbo'ing another one of the NATO infantry mods out of there and extracting the config bin, copy and paste then just change all the unit naming to suit.

Wow, nice work on that one. Would love to see the AUG A3 ported to A3, though. Merging A2 and A3 is a too big mess for me right now so just copy and paste is not an option at this time.

EDIT: I noticed there is a multicam texture and an aussie flag patch on the the helmet in the preview pics. It's not showing up in-game though. Anyone else getting this? I tried loading it both manually with a modline and with the in-game expansions manager.

That's the beauty of ArmA III alpha. It's set 20+ years in the future, so you're allowed some artitic freedom. With future / hypothetical creations it's not neccesary to add a disclaimer like this ;)

Hey Clarkey, yeh only works in the Arma 3 Devlopment build at the moment, you can try it out by opting in via steam >> arma 3 >> properties >> beta... but its not recommended as you won't be able to join most mp servers.

I have ported over the Steyr A3 - there is a few bugs that I will kink out later today because I am completely buggered lol.

Current issues with the steyr:

ca\data\env_land_co.paa when previewing MIDF's create in editor. <-------- no idea what this is, where it came from, where it links from, who created it, why its being a bastard, and whome will be my saviour of justice.

and...

a3\weapons_f\data\tracer\tracer_red.p3d - which is easily fixed, just too tired atm.

Anyhow I will most likely have a variety of unit classes like medic, sqd leader etc, with varying steyr's ready for consumption by the end of today.

Woot woot!

The Steyr A3 will be a placeholder until Slatt's has his Steyr F90 up and going boom shakalaka.

AMP - SQUAD w/ STEYR's

Bugs:

- ca\data\env_land_co.paa error message - but not game breaking. So far I know its an Arma 2 file but I am unsure how to relink it to its A3 equivalent.

- sometimes you will get an AUGA3 error - depending on how your game is feeling, i've had it once or twice but again, not game breaking and the weapons work fine.

Includes:

- Combat Medic

- Team Leader

- Grenadier

- Rifleman AT

- Rifleman

TO be completed:

With the help of Slatts I was able to get the config.cpp working fine, huge thanks to him. I will be working on getting medic patches for the Combat Medic, the only hiccup is getting it scripted in properly but I am learning semi-quickly :D

Could you possibly add a class list text file so I can add the various clothes and vests to a script me and my friends use to equip ourselves before missions (similar to the thing Dslyecxi made to preview clothes) as well as tweak a mission I'm making.

class lists for the following would be great:

- Vests (plate carriers etc)

- Clothes

- Helmets

- AUG

- AUG ammo

I want to make a mission with UK and Aus cooperation but make the UK troops have the same clothes as Aus (because your skin is sweet) but different plate carriers/helmets for the UK troops (which I can do currently). What I can't do is add/remove AUG's and its ammo as I don't have the class lists. Currently I have 2 blank items in each UK soldiers inventory and I'm not sure if they are ammo or weapons?

Awesome work Sbats! I'm loving this one. Plus having Steyrs in the game before just about anything else gives me the closest I'll probably come to a serious feeling of national pride heh.

Is that error you mentioned to do with the ACOG sight and no recoil?

You also have an error with missing/bad comas in your config.cpp for the Soldier02 and Soldier05 Magazines declaration:

Bugs:

When using the Eotech sight and the Acog sight you will get a non game breaking error along the lines of env_land, unfortunately this needs to be relinked via the P3D files which requires the author Christian.1987 to participate (pm'd), but not a major priority atm.

You might get a config error for the AUG, I have not personally but its not a game breaker either.
