Just about everytime I try starting Resistance a message pops up that says 'cannot memory-map file 'RES\addons\o.pbo''. I found I can get around this sometimes by alt+tabing out right at the start up, but then if I'm unlucky it will say the same thing about dta\music.pbo
Any ideas on what's going on and how to fix it?

Next time you make a post please make the effort to look around the forums and/or use the search engine, this problem has been posted a lot of times.
Post your system specs, specifically how much Ram you have, hard drive space and swap file settings, also if you have any unofficial addons remove them and try that.
If someone reports an issue/complains about the Alpha etc, replying in the thread "dude it's an alpha" doesn't really help anyone! Point them to the Arma3 Alpha feedback tracker instead please!
Please do not PM or Email me directly about your CD Key issues, follow the guidance in this thread instead.

P4 2.2 GHz
1 GB RDRAM
128 MB GeForce3 Ti200
40 GB hard drive (half full)
768 MB paging file
I did search the forums, I found NOTHING.

Hmm well I just did a search of the troubleshooting forum for the term memory over the past month and I found......
Cannot memory map file res/addons/o.pbo
Cannot memory map files o.pbo :'(
Arrghh more problems with resistance!
That's 3 threads all reporting the same problem as you, and there are more but I really can't be bothered to find them.

Anyways
Those helped you at all?

Yeah, either reinstall it all or possibly remove all my addons. Well thanks for the help.

Removing all my addons worked. Now my only problem is getting past Occupation in the campaign.

I also have this problem, heres my system specs:
System specs:
P4 1.5gig
60gig harddrive
ati radeon 8500le 128mb ddr
256mb sdram
Swap File:384mb-768mb
this should be enough to run the damn game, so why isnt it running?! Could the problem be the Ram or could it be my video card?

If it's something with your hardware it's either RAM or the swap file. I'm guessing that it's the same file, O.pbo. Normally when I get this error with addons you just take the addon out of your addons directory and live without it, but that doesn't work too well with this file cuz it hold most of the weapons in Resistance plus the textures, most of the buildings and objects on Nogova. You should take all of your addons out of your addons folder and put them somewhere else. Then if the game works slow add the ones you want back into the addons folder.
