Failed to contact key server- help

So just an hour ago i bought Arma 2 and arma 2 operation arrowhead on steam, after i purchased it (mainly for dayz) i ran arma 2 and then i clicked on arma operation arrowhead and got the message "failed to contact key server"


does anyone know what this means, am i doing something wrong?

I get the same error. I bought the game last night (8am CET, 26th august 2012) and it still won't work.

I think that steam has run out of keys, which is baffling.. and to say the least frustrating. Thought I'd get to run some Day-z before a hectic week, but nah.. always something with steam.

I brought it last night and it still has the key error, can you post when you send more out plz

I purchased/downloaded Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead and Arma 2 Free using Steam over two weeks ago with the intent of running Dayz. I am still receiving the key server error on Arma 2 Free. I still cannot play Dayz. I am beginning to experience frustration from this issue. Any assistance is appreciated.

holelottadollas have you used http://free.arma2.com/activation/ to get your serial?
You can also download ArmA 2 Free there, if the steam version gives you problems.

Did u realy think, that Steam already got some Keys atm?.. Because I´ve got the Same Problem with the Keyserver since Yesterday.. Tryed it a few seconds ago but nothing happens.. Pls Fix it =)

Hmm yeah ur Right.. Steam should fix it up, but they dont show any reaction on my ticket at the steam support.. and the Keyserver is unavailable anyway =(

If steam isn't giving out Arma2free keys then get your key from one of the other methods, you're only using it to be cheap and not buy Arma2 so you can play DayZ anyways
