Mortar to squad leader: "Where are you?"

This is Operation Arrowhead

On the map I place myself, 4 riflemen and one mortar man.

The mortar is positioned about 500 meters behind the rest of us. As we patrol we leave him further and further behind.

As we patrol I order the mortar to shoot and he does so.

However, frequently during the mission, the mortar man asks "Where are you?"

Is there a way to stop him asking the question?

My bad, moved back to the original place now.

I'm not sure now if it's possible to make him shut up because after some distance they lose eye contact with you and then asking for your location.

Eventually you could fix that with a script you use use for stopping him. There you reveal yourself to him every time he shall move on.

If you directly tell him to get in as a gunner instead of just starting him there he might stop asking, since you gave him a command so he's now out of formation.

I think issuing command "stop" or "wait" should get the job done.
