    Marking places on the map

How can you mark places in your map besides double clicking it that shows a big X mark and everyone can see it. I`ve seen some people do markings for themselves like a waypoint or something but I can`t seem to figure it out thanks.

On map, shift + click to create such a waypoint that you can see in 3d view. Sure it must be allowed to see such info in difficulty settings.

also note that holding shift, combined with up/down keys will allow you to alter mark color on map.
    and holding/pressing Alt+Up/Down combo - appearanceicon of marking/marker.

sadly there is no way to alter marker appearance in 3D/FPS/TPS/overview perspective/PoV, yet, but maybe someone else, write add-on for that too ?
