How to learn?

Hey, I just picked up the free version of Arma II. It was a pain, but I got good enough with the controls and went into multiplayer. However, this is where it gets incredibly confusing. I get in these games with 25% of the people sititing in base doing nothing, 75% out doing something. Sometimes I don't even know how to get out of base, and when I do, I don't know where I'm going. These missions seem like they'd be fun if I knew how to do them, I just have no idea.

Usually, open the map and look if there is some kind of mission description. Also try to find out if people are on TS and join it if possible.

Besides this, for real tactical play, get Combined Operations (ArmA 2 & Operation Arrowhead) because with ArmA2free you will most likely just find casual players with mostly next to none interest to play tactical.

Oh no trust me, theres tons of tacticle people in the f2p version. Perhaps the 25% standing at base doing nothing are the people who have no idea. I'm just trying to learn how to play before I buy it, its unlike anything I've seen before.
