You can't, use common sense procedures and tell people to take balancing into consideration when selecting a slot.

    Nice and charming!

Common sense is great and I do have it, unfortunately the people who join our server seem not to. The problem is not me!

Teamswapping in switched off in our server so I don't know which side they choose until they join the game (when game is already in play)! And although there is a message when they join, they stack Bluefor.

Thanks for the (non) advice! Still you answered my question I guess, even without the decorum!

    WTF??

You asked a question, you were given the right answer. There is nothing rude or offensive in Myke's reply. He did not say you had no common sense, only that "common sense procedures" were the way to go.

Does common sense lead you to believe that reacting negatively to helpful advice on one issue will encourage forum members to assist you with other queries?

Yes I asked a question - 'Is there a way to auto team balance?'

Of course it's easy before a game begins as I do not start until it's balanced, but when it's in play and people join THAT is my problem. If I wasn't having the trouble of people NOT using their common sense or just ignoring server rules, would I be asking the question in the first place?

The simple answer would have been 'No, you cant'. To me that reply sounded like he was telling ME to use common sense, as I can't instill common sense into others!!! If he wasn't, then I apologise.

He obviously wasn't. No need to over react.

You technically can via a scripted solution you can implement into your mission.

Basically on client join, you would check the player count on each side (count units that have UIDs - those are players). If the number was too great, then display a black message covering their screen saying you willl have to go back to the lobby and pick a different team.

This is the method I use in warfare and I'm pretty sure other people might use it as well.
