True, it's nothing new. Previous examples are Desert Combat for BF1942, that generated sales way beyond 1942's life span (of course EA failed to grasp this and stuck their corporate head in the sand). And then of course, who could forget CounterStrike? The HL games are great but they owe a hell of a lot of those sales success to CS.

Damn! I bought along a tin of Heinz but Mr Hall was really busy chatting to people. I didn't want to barge in, so I bottled it and left the tin next to one of the existing stacks of beans near the PC's...

This is great and all, but would this not be better over on the Day Z forums? I don't think its biggest fans are to be found here.

some of us are dayz fans as well as arma fans too. and i like the changes that are coming arma2 way due to the increased interest and needs of dayz. so far it is win-win. so i would like to know more as no way will i fly 17000km to a conference.
