Exclamation ArmA 2 OA (CO) Tank issue.

    Hello,

I have been having this problem for a while now (ever since I bought ArmA 2 CO) with the tanks, maybe you could help me.

Whenever I or an AI shoots a SABOT or HE round of a tank (Explosive rounds) on OA or CO the game freezes and my HDD spins at maximum, thus freezing my whole workstation and impossible to use the tanks at all. ArmA 2 FULL (not free) seems to be running bug free.

Yes both sides, west and east, are having the problem.
NO I am not using any mods.
YES! I tried running as admin.

    Im not stupid people....

    Specs:

Intel Pentium Dual core 2.1ghz per core
    RAM: 4GB DDR3
GPU: 1GB Shared (dedicated also) Intel HD Graphics Family
    Windows 7 (64bit) OS

    HELP!

I was thinking I may have a fault installation of OA (Disk error or something cause this also happens on another computer and with no change in the error)

Yes I also applied all patches.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Should I try another installation? (My friends copy seems to work fine) and I could use my key.

So you'll have read the system requirements and know that your machine barely meets the system requirements for this game?
Documentation is not a dirty word.

Duh, dude, the tanks run great (if you read the rest of the post) on ArmA 2 not OA or Combined.... the game runs at a steady 30-40fps on max settings for me. Oh and my HDD RPMs are 5400.

    Yes, you're right, my apologies.

That I should stop reading your post after said you can get 40 FPS at max settings with a POS Pentium is totally unacceptable.

Now that you've told us you are using slow hard disks I feel even more contrite.

When you say 'workstation' you actually mean 'laptop' don't you?

Yes, I mean laptop... A workstation can mean both laptop or desktop systems. I can run ArmA 2 CO max settings at about 36FPS.... (Well with Post-Processing off cause that looks stupid to me).

I am not here to argure about who knows what and what that is.... I am here to resolve this issue I am having.

Clearly you do not see the point that this issue appears on this laptop which has a 5400RPM HDD and my other laptop that has a 3200RPM HDD.... My friend (who has the same specs as me) runs OA and CO fine and has no tank issues. I came here for an answer that I can use to help solve this problem. Not a guy who likes to make up crappy and off topic responses.

    Regards.

The fact that the game runs at all on some of your machines is no guarantee that it will run on others. Especially when neither of your laptops meet even the minimum system requirements for this game.

You want an answer and you don't appear to be getting one. That's because this forum is littered with new users who rock up with underpowered machines, often laptops and then wonder why the game isn't very good on them. If you want my opinion and that of many others here, you should treat the recommended system requirements as the starting point. Sometimes these users don't tell the truth about how the game performs or they are unclear about their system specs. Yours might even be a Celeron for all we know - that's NEVER going to run this game properly

I'm not into e-penis waving, but my machine can only just get 40 FPS with everything on max. And that's got an new SSD (that moves 520 GB of data a second not the 100 or so yours does), with the game on it, a GTX470 graphics card, an Intel 2600K and 16 GB of RAM. This game gobbles up CPU power and HDD speed, neither of which you have much of. And let's not even start on the potential overheating issues you're going to have in Michigan at this time of year.

I'm sorry if you aren't getting the answer you want to hear, but it's the answer you're going to get.

haha, well your answer is just a recommendation and stating something I already know. My last PC had a AMD Sepron (ran ArmA 2 at a poopy 15fps on low) and a ATI Radeon 3100 212MB Graphics Card. If you do want more proof that this system ( Dell Inspiron N7100 ) can run the game at max settings (without PPS) around 36-40FPS.... Let me know.

I have been playing the ArmA series since ArmA 1 came out, and now, I expect a, somewhat, better answer. Seeming how your answer isn't a answer at all. Your still not getting my point! The game runs fine, ArmA 2 (NOT CO, NOT OA) runs GREAT and without any error, but, ArmA 2 (CO OR OA) seems to be having the issue, and my friend who has lesser specs, does not have the issue.

    Thanks,

p.s. Rocking machine you got, lucky....
