    Making a vehicle model.

    Hello.

First of all, I'm very new to Oxygen 2, and have little experience in modelling, but understand the concept.
As my 1st project, I want to make a car, Humvee (Of unspecified model.) and get it ingame, without any textures or any fancy stuff, just a working model with proxies and stuff.

I know how I would go about making the model, but due to a problem I have no yet solved with bulldozer (Not starting up through oxygen.) I have to manually check every little change I make, to make sure the face is right and there are no gaps.
Now, when making a whole low poly car chassis, this is very annoying.

I'm wondering, is there any way to just make a big square, then sculpt it into the chassis, then add all the high poly details with individual faces?
How does BIS make their models?
United as one, divided by zero.

    Not with O2.

While i'm pretty comfortable with O2 (but so far i was making rather simple objects), most people use either 3DS max or Blender, save as 3ds file and import it to O2 as last stage, adjusting tiny bits there if necessary.

How would you go about of importing it into O2?
I've heard there are some problems with it.
Is it just "Save as 3ds, open in O2, ????, profit!"

Anyways, what do you recommend? I've seen a program named Silo, and it seems to offer exactly what I want, but I don't know about the compatibility.

I know for sure that quite a few modders here do use Blender as free software. Silo i've never heard about before so nothing helpful i could say about it. If any commercial Software is used, usually 3DS Max is named.

In the Software you use, export it to a format O2 can import. If you encounter problems, you might ask for specific help in here as people usually are very helpful if they know a answer. From that point, i would recommend to use a 3rd party Software that is widely used in the community, as the chance someone can help you if problems arise is much bigger.

    Alright, thanks.
I think I'm going to start to model with Blender. It looks versatile and easy, but I've tried it ages ago and didn't understand even a little bit of how vertexes, faces etc. work in it.

    Oh well, YouTube time...
