    Ofp problem in windows 7

    Help! I have installed OFP to windows 7 and I am getting strange error message at start.
    Game doesn't even start. It shows this error message:

    ================================================== ===================
    == C:\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE
    ================================================== ===================
    Exe version: Fri Jun 22 00:39:07 2012

    ErrorMessage: Cannot create 3D device:
    Adapter 0 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti ) Fullscreen
    Resolution 1280x720, format X8R8G8B8/D16, refresh 0 Hz.
    Error D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE

    I have OFP 1.96 installed. What is going on here?
    My Windows is: Windows 7 Home premium - 64bit

    My DirectX version is: 11

    I know this: That error code is related to DIRECT3D.
    Maybe this info will help here.

    You could try installing DirectX 9 maybe?

    DX9 is not fully included in DX11.

    Works fine in Win 7 Ultimate x64 here.

    By the way:
    I have ARMA X anniversary edition in my posession. So I can finally try this hype called ARMA.

    Hmmm, let's see.
    You could try to download DX9 from here, extract it and then run the included dxsetup.exe?

    Yes before you ask: It't totally safe to install DX9 over DX11 as no parts from DX11 are changed/replaced. Don't ask why, that's Microsoft logic which normal people like you and me don't have to understand.

    I did as you adviced. Downloaded pack and installed it. Problem is still there. What now?

    Tried to run it as administrator?

    However I don't have to use any compatibility modes here.

    Only thing I have is these two parameters added to the shortcut:

    -nosplash -nomap

    That -nosplash -nomap thing helped there. I have other problem: In start menu I see two mouse cursors and taskbar is flashing under menu. What is this problem here?

    I have CSLA mod installed and it worked fine because it has separate start EXE to run. Weird thing here. In CLSA mod start screen are ALSO those two mouse cursors and flashing taskbar under there.

    Glad you got it working. The duplicate cursor is normal when you run OFP at your native desktop resolution. Switch back to desktop and back to OFP, then it goes away.

    The flashing taskbar is another common problem, I solved it by running OFP in window mode (add -window as parameter).

    In compatibility tab I ticked these three options also:

    Disable themes.
    Disable desktop arranging.
    Disable display scaling then DPI-setting is high.

    That helped a bit.

    ON FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE i ticked Windows XP SP3 mode also. Error message dissappeared completely.
