    CARRIER COMMAND:FLEET COMMAND (Multiplayer Cliff? What cliff?)

    If Bohemia should decide to go the Multiplayer route, which I hope they do...

    My Dream: *Jumps off cliff*

    It should be a fleet based team game. However many players a side is almost irrelevant. Based on Server. I like the idea of multiplay ships, but the higher "Ranked" Captains should have lattitude to assign their craft to their subordinates if they take on "Crew."

    Most of the ships would be variations on the theme, minus Subs and Bombers.

    Bombers: Would be like Sea Planes, for patrol. Wing in Ground Effect monsters? Can set down on water and ping for subs. More slots, slower and long range with autonomous search, with some point defense/tailgun capability to make it more interesting when intercepted. Can carry bombs, drones, buoys?, torpedoes? Mines?

    First in gets first pick. Points vary by size of platform, but some platforms have better abilities at some stuff than others.

    Strike Carrier: 8 Aircraft slots/0 Walrus (Or 6/2 for Balance?)
    Fleet Carrier: 4 Aircraft/4 Walrus
    Amphibious Carrier: 0 Manta/8 Walrus (Or 2/6 for Balance?)
    Battleship/Battlecruiser: 1/1 + Heavy Anti-Surface Armament, Respectable AA & PD (Fast and scary, not slow.)
    Cruiser: 1/1 + Heavy Anti-Air Armament. (SAM/Missile Launchers/Area Air Defense+Decent Anti-Surf)
    Destroyer: 2/0 + Anti-Sub Armament. 2 slots for possible Bomber for ASW?
    Frigate/Destroyer Escort: 1 or 1+ Minesweeping and Fastest Surface Ship?

    Fast Attack Sub: 1?/0 Torpedos?/Cruise Missiles+Fast!
    Boomer: 0/1 Torpedos?/Cruise Missiles/Missiles+Not Fast, but sneakier!

    The other idea I'd toy with would be a "Sea Lion" Tank. Heavy with some point defense. 2 amphibious bays.
    Seaborne bomber? 2 slots? Same as Landbomber? Carry Missiles? Bombs? Mines that work against both Surf and Subs?

    All torpedoes should be "Supercavitating" i.e. not slow and boring, and should be able to seek and blow up other torpedoes as well as mines or anything else in the water. *lots of explosions.*

    That is all I want for Christmas. (A Multiplayer Sequel!) And for them to secure those silly boxes in front of the CIC. That's just not shipshape, especially if there is weather.

    I forgot perhaps a mobile factory ship that just has to dock and get resources but can research as well as manufacture and store fuel.

    I'd call that an Fleet Auxilliary(2/0)
    You could even do a Command Ship, but I prefer the Fleet Carrier to fill that role. Commo links with all ships and can see everything his players see.

    Different Radar/Stealth fits for the bombers would be interesting too. (Or even Manta Mini-Hawkeye fits?) For subs I like a simple Signature vs. Sensor algorithm for detection. (Vice Allegiance) Speed and weapon fit affect signature, as well as upgrades.

    Sadly you and many others have far more imagination of where this game could have, and indeed probably should have gone than the devs have had unfortuntely.

    This would be a really cool expansion pack if BI decides they want to do it, but I would love to have this in multiplayer, or even in single player. You could be able to produce them on factory islands, and in the startup options, you would be able to decide how many ships you start out with and how many your enemy starts with. In my opinion, it would be really fun.

    EDIT: It would make it more realistic, as both you and the enemy has the ability to defend each of your/his islands without the carrier needing to be present.

    Gunso it's too bad Battlestations: Pacific requires Games for Windows LIVE to run. It's a great game ruined by crappy 3rd party software.
