This has made me chuckle a bit. It is very obvious that they haven't understand very much of BIS and their community.

The BIS modding community is what makes this game never ageing.

There's so much stuff released that even if you would play 24/7, it is not enough to check out everything properly, and what the BIS modding community comes up with. Most addons and mods are top notch and of very high quality.
A lot of talented guys who are sacrificing their free time to create fantastic addons for free so the community can enjoy them.
    Thanks!!!!

I'm sure it's just me, but I find it very extremely sad that of all the amazing mods and addons that are available for ArmA, someone decided to mention DayZ on the ArmA II Wikipedia page.

The information was only added and edited on June 7th and June 8th by 3 different IP addresses. To top it off, whoever it was that added and edited it obviously does not play ArmA very much as they completely butchered the name "ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead".

Like it or not, other mods didn't put Arma in the top position on Steam sales and boast 5000+ players online at a time.

Firstly, I feel Bohemia really deserve the success they are getting and I really hope it helps them realise what an amazing game they have made. (sure they do!)

I can see young blood buying DAY-Z on steam now. Some spend 5mins on the game and go back to Modern Warfare. Some play for a week and lose interest. But some, just a few are introduced to Day-Z and create an adventure of endless possibilities for themselves. You see, that's what we do. We have "discovered" ARMA 2 and so mould it into our own little world.

We all have our own little bubbles of skilled members. The average player has to tick a lot of boxes and spend a good few dedicated hours just learning to play the game. This creates a big learning curve 80% of new players fall at.

Here's the beauty of Day-Z. In my mind it's a training ground for the future arma player. I can load up Day-Z and dominate a server with an organised merc unit, where as the "day-z loner" will always lose.

So slowly but surely a percentage of DAY-Z players are filtering into the ARMA scene. As green as grass and as fresh as raw meat, they bring no BS baggage from other communities and are willing to learn while breathing life into this community.

Here's my take on ARMA evolution:

    DAY-Z
    ARMA 2- FREE
    ARMA 2 - Combined Ops (most day-z players don't play this :P)
    ARMA 2 - ACE2/ACRE
    Profit?

With ARMA 3 not to far away, I for one as a loyal dedicated arma player am looking forward to the future of DAY-Z and the fresh blood it brings.

    Thanks,

Thanks for sharing that, was terrific
If someone reports an issue/complains about the Alpha etc, replying in the thread "dude it's an alpha" doesn't really help anyone! Point them to the Arma3 Alpha feedback tracker instead please!

Please do not PM or Email me directly about your CD Key issues, follow the guidance in this thread instead.

never expect the BBC to understand anything lol.

our team has split down the middle - the guys stalking in dayZ and the others playing evolution. last night all the dayZ guys came into evo and it was amazing. they have really improved in terms of tactics and teamplay.
    conclusions:
dayZ is a good training estate for arma...! when i have played it i would say that the audio and visual indicators are great training for the guys - to make them aware of the repercussions of their stance - a lot less skylining and sprinting going on now which is great

however it has split us into smaller groups who play online - even to the point of them going to other teamspeaks.

the difficulty of hosting it means we can't put our own server up (yet) and the 15 min waits each time some of us connect (and sometimes with 4x fails = 1 hour wasted and no beanz!) means some of us just can't play it.
so hoping the mod improves (I know it's being improved daily).
anyway we've been together for 5 years and more now, so not too worried about losing half the crew...

and yeah i know what gnat means about the bicycle. just pulling out your thermal laser desi in evo is a joy after dayz. someone should make a gold plated one and put only 1 in the whole game.

i'd love to play this and be able to rescue dudes from a roof in a UH60... imagine the gratitude? mind you someone would probably shoot you in the face and try to steal your bergen...

Yeh great boost for BIS and their method of cultivating a community. Well done guys.

And Sickboy should get a big pad on the back also, if it wasn't for the Six updater then it would have simply been a less-big bunch of angry and annoyed new buyers.
