Bootcamp first aid drag/carry movement controls?

I just started playing and have been trying to learn the basics. I'm stuck at the tutorial boot camp first aid mission where you need to drag/carry the wounded soldier across the street. I have no problem getting into the drag or carry position but once in either, my movement controls are gone (I can only look around). What am I doing wrong?

I'm playing ARMA 2: CO but I had the same problem with ARMA 2 free version before.
I am using default key bindings and don't see any special keys related to this.
Dropping the person returns my movement controls.
I searched the forum and net and could only find questions related to initiating the drag/carry position (not movement after).

If I recall well, when draging wounded teammate your movements are very limited. You can move only backward and blindfire your rifle for some cover.

yeah, can't even go backwards. even tried dropping my rifle out of desperation.

I'm also experiencing the same bug. Try to switch to main weapon before interacting with the wounded soldier. I think using a pistol while trying to interact with that soldier causes the bug.
