Graphics--I must be doing something wrong

Hi guys
I'm trying to adjust my graphic settings and I'm running into problems with jaggys, flashing and shimmering. I have a nvidia gtx 580 3gb ram card. My computer is a i7-2600k @ 4.5ghz 16gb ram. Running win7 home.

on this one the horizon isn't blending to well

It seems as the anti-aliasing is not working fully. I also have a lot of shimmering and flashing of textures. Looking at my settings could you tell me what to adjust a clean this up. I trying to make it look like your video's I've seen or close to it.

In your nvidia CP, try anisotropic filtering, antialiasing mode, and vert sync to application controlled.

I did everything you said and I'm still getting shimmering. I've spent hrs. fiddling with the different settings and I can't get rid of the shimmering. Look let's make this simple. Why can't you guys provide us screenshots of the settings you used in your video's as a baseline. Then I can tune it down if I need to. It would save me alot of time.
