Need help with vertical rotation issue.

I recently installed the game, and im still doing the training.
At the moment im using the thrustmaster 16000m joystick.

There seems to be an issue with pedal rotation. When i try to rotate the chopper to either side with pedals, it doesn't rotate, but rather turns to the side and bounces back when i let go. This happens with both keyboard and joystick controlls.
Is it supposed to be like this? Can i turn this off in any way? I find it verry annoying.

Edit: Apparantly helo rotats as expected when autohovering.
But when im not in autohover its like trying to rotate with a rubberband stapped to the tail that turns the helo back to original possition when letting go of the pedals.
Can anyone explain?

Strange problem. Check if the "rudder" axe is bind only on your pedal. May be there is a conflict somewhere...

If you are in forward flight, the nose will tend to face in the direction of travel because of the aerodynamic forces of the vertical stabilizors.

Wait, I think I know the problem! You mention that it works as it should "when autohovering," but when you turn off autohover, the odd behavior happens.

I think you're in autohover when you think you aren't, and are not in autohover when you think you are.

It's a command, not a displayed status, so if it says "autohover on," then autohover is presently off. Clicking the "autohover on" button will turn on autohover. So, whatever the button says, you're in the opposite until you click it. So, if you experience weird behavior and you check the context menu and it says "autohover off," then you're in autohover mode (in which mode this sort of thing does indeed occur).

Autohover does not have any effect on yaw, whether on or off.

Is that new? I found that autohover stabilizes the helicopter quite a bit in the yaw axis.

If you are talking about the gyroscopic effects trying to use the pedals to turn while moving fast like you can in Battlefield 3, yes it is supposed to be like this. Real life also behaves like this. If you want to turn while moving forward quickly, use the cyclic instead of pedals (bank into a turn and pull up, and if your pitch changes, compensate with pedals or bank more).

I have also just experienced this problem and I just bought a new joystick, tried it out and found I had the same problem. Neither of the choppers I have used so far (Apache and Little Bird) have responded to my rudder input.
I bought a joystick with a rotating stick just for the rudder control and I was surprised it didn't respond as it should. I remapped the controls to the buttons B and N and the choppers responded in the same way, like a rubber band was snapping them back, not allowing the rudder to work. I found that there were times when I could get the chopper to change direction slightly more but then the chopper would go back exactly to the point on the horizon that it was pointed at before. If the direction of the chopper was having an effect on the response due to the vertical stabilizers then wouldn't the direction of the chopper be affected at least a little bit??? The current behavior doesn't make sense to me and i'm surprised that it seems so rigid even on the relatively touchy controls of the Little Bird.

I just bought the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick today. Please don't let me regret it.

Try to do it while AUTO HOVER. Tell me if it's ok or not.

I guess you try to turn the helo while moving foward that's NORMAL it "work" but came back to the "origine".
